Hi,

Sorry my bad English.

Knagalis says "like Turkish lude" not says it is a Turkish lude.

Some systems wrong open mp3 files (like my browser)
but i will add mp3 file too.

I used VST SDK 2.3, SDL and C++. It call sample.

Pholipony CPU dependent. I was not border pholipony.

I do not know SE plug-in? What is this?

We want to expect commercial activity. But we need time. If you have a idea, i will be happy :)

Regards,

Hi,

It have 2 sounds. Baglama and electric baglama.

Post

Thank you, sounds really nice, but its only one velocity layer. Would have been really cool to incorporate velocity triggered slides/bends and other fx that would greatly enhance the instuments playability and realism. Its really hard to achieve anything close to how a real saz lead would sound without the ability to do slides and bends.

I do really like that you've added chords to the keymap, but again not enough variety to make it that useful. I was expecting alot more for the size of the download.

Sorry, but the UI is in my opinion completely unecessary. Why not just offer the sounds as a soundfont bank?

BTW, if you're taking requests for other instruments, I'd love a good Zurna, soemthing really honking and obnoxious like the sounds on Erkin Koray's song "Turku" from Elektronic Turkuler.

Yes, one velocity is poor. But next version will have more velocity layer.

Our target develop VST Instruments. It is our first product. We need time for more useful instruments. Last few days i have been thinking make to zurna :)

And you know erkin Koray :)

Thank you,

Maybe because they want to sell it actually.

Nobody will buy a single soundfont (one layer) for that price, right?

Althought, the current functionality of the plug gives you merely a kinda "compiled" soundfont (and even much less) ...

I actually gave away those ideas in my previous posts. For free!

Suggestion on your VST instrument:

It might be a good idea for you to postpone trying to sell this, and take some time to see what similar instruments are available, what features they have, and what they are selling for (price).

As it stands, you have a very limited instrument - it is basically one sound with virtually no control over it. If you compare it to just one of the instruments listed (Knagalis), you see an plug-in that allows quite a number of different instrument choices, plus many parameters to affect how they sound, and then on top of that the choice of differing intonations. This is coupled with a pretty easy-to-use interface, and they are selling it for less than yours.

And then there are the many collections of ethnic instrumental samples to compare to.

If you want to be successful in creating and selling electronic versions of ethnic instruments, you really need to spend a while seeing where your instrument fits into the picture. Right now it would be hard to convince people to pay for a single sound that doesn't have much musical flexibility built into it.

I hope this gives you a little perspective for the future...

Cheers,

I also fail to understand why you named it "Baglama". I think that if you just called it "Saz", as it is widely known, it would be more obvious and recognizable, since most people think of the current Greek version of baglama (small bouzouki) when they hear ... "Baglama". Or at least I do, perhaps 'cause I'm Greek. ;)

Regarding the VSTi itself, although the idea is interesting, at this point it would only make sense as freeware. The GUI is useless indeed and you need more velocity layers for sure. However, the recording quality is nice. :)

I would like to test it, but the server is somewhat slow; expected time to download; some 5 hours...

Where is the server located?
Is it on dial up or something?

the mp3 example sounds really promising...

An example of a company that i'd like to submit to you is : www.swarsystems.com ...that is specialised in indian instruments AND indian musics !.

- it would be something very exciting, i think, if a company would do something similar with near and middle-east instruments and musical cultures...

Just fixed the wrong spell of the link...

Well, after 5 or 6 hours of downloading (I'm on broadband, it was the stupid server!) I got a chance to test this plugin; no sound at all.
Why, it couldn't be that I'm running Logic, colud it?

Sorry to sound so negative, but 79 $ for a product that has to be downloaded for 5-6 hours :(

I'm interested in this Baglama software as well, but it better be pretty darn good! I've got some choice Saz samples already I adore, and Ethnosphere takes care of any MIDI modulations and rythemic sounds I may wish to interject.

So if this Baglama can incorporate the 2 easily (melody and rythem) and generate a easy mode of playing them, I'll definately be interested! :hihi:

hi,
it sounds nice-i mean the demo, actually i am producing a türkish group, and this could be helpful, the saz player isnt so exciting..the first türkish instrument, well i don`t know if a darbuka is an instrument for you, then it wouldn`t be the first, but i think its the first saz vsti...if you are looking for some saz samples, there`s one in the hanz zimmer guitars-not very impressing, but o.k.for the start..
greetz ,i personally think its a good idea
...the most nicest noise is to laugh...
