I have never anyone using these. Are they any good? I hope they are not just another set of crashing VSTs

Klemperer wrote:Thanks! And nice they don't use PACE! I don't know if that affects PC-running-like-hell in any kind, but as I had problems in the past I don't want to test it either. Thanks very much for those freebies!
from the read-me file included:
In addition to installing Pluggo, the installer adds Pace's Interlok software necessary for Pluggo’s copy protection to your system. These copy protection files will not interfere with the operation of your system in any way.

OK that's all I need to know. Thanks Gary. I will pass for now.

I could be wrong, but if you load the free Pluggo runtime and the Pluggo jr, PACE isnt included. I think its just the main package that has the PACE. Please tell me Im right on that. I sure hope so cause there are some really nice plugs here. I especially like some of the flanging effects.

Anyone got these working on OS X Tiger? They don't show up for selection in any of my hosts, either as VSTs or AUs. I have ValveTone and HydraTone installed, which work fine.

Post

no pace seems to be included with the pluggo jr pack...

it's a kind of copy protection, it has a terrible reputation for messing up people's DAWs.

PACE has allways been messy shit. And that's all there is about it.
Maybe they've been doing better recently, but I can't be arsed to try by myself at all.
But from my experience, PACE has been THE prime example of copy protection harming legit users. Quote from several Waves users: "Buy the original, use the crack". There's been more than enough reasons for that. I had crashes out of the blue, plugins telling me they were actually running in demo mode, etc etc. As said, my personal experience is quite aging, but as I can't see the slightest reason for someone using PACE, I still won't let it near my audio machine.
It'd be extra dumbness if some freebie required PACE stuff to be installed - so does anybody have a defenite answer to it, regarding the Pluggo stuff?

right, I've had a look at the docs in the download file and in the unpacked folder - nothing at all about PACE is in there anywhere!!!
