I know this was mentioned before at http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=70403/, but since I tested AcidXpress I think I can't live with the great feature of automatic or manual pitch-shifting and time-stretching of audio-samples and -loops.

There are several tools which can do that job, but the best solution would be a function within energyXT in

- sampler
- audio-comp
- audio-part in seq
- etc.

To me personaly it sounds as good as the audio stretching engine in adobe live..; that's the only one I can compare it with

Do you mean ABLETON Live?

Let's make sure we clarify, with Live you can change tempo **dynamically**. That means you can change the tempo while the music is playing, and time stretched parts will adjust to the changes in tempo automatically.

I would just say this Jorgen, if you can make time-stretching work on loops in real time as I've decribed (the way it works in Ableton Live) then XT will be the most killer application on the planet!

Well, it already is, but it would, er............rule the universe!!! 8)

FYI, the SoundTouch library is also the one used in a free VSTi tool called Xtal.

Wanted to post about this a few months ago. Guess what ? I've just forgotten.

Yes I do agree, ableton live can do all those things in real time.
I was just talking about the end result.

If you are going to add realtime timestretch of ACIDized wavs to audio playback (which I assume is complex) then you might as well add an audio chopper to the browser (like ACID) and have the wav file audition in the browser play in sync with the sequencer.

Also, please implement MIDI time stretch for MIDI parts in the sequencer.

Thank god! This really will be wonderful!

Cold C have you tried using the slicer in the sampler? I know it's not the same but it does work well.

Yes yes, it is very good slicyness :D but much more like the phatmatik pro method of slicing than the Acid version.

the sequencer already have time stretch, just resize with shift pressed.
