I'm sure I tried that before I posted, must have been because I had 'snap' on and didn't stretch it far enough. :dog:

Also, for some reason I was probably expecting the mouse pointer to change, user feedback etc. (excuses excuses etc.)

Also, I don't think I could find 'timestretch' in the user manual pdf, probably due to it being slightly out of date (and eXT's development speed).

Thanks :D

Thinking about it now, it would have made more sense for me to search this forum (not the pdf) for 'timestretch'.

Forgot to add that it can without a problem turn an accoustic guitar to a double bass or a violin to a cello ! :o

One of the best pitch shifting process I've ever heard.

The SoundTouch library is the way to go ! :D

jorgen
:?: I'm not getting any kind of stretch on audio when holding shift (pitch or time). :help:

Works for MIDI though :)

It stretches the timing of events in a audio, midi and envelope parts. It does not preserve pitch of samples.

Oh. That's what I thought. (actually though it does perserve pitch right? I mean the pitch doesn't change.)
The disscussion here is about time-stretching the samples (in a later vesrsion) using that touchsound lib right?

yes, I was, until...
Also, please implement MIDI time stretch for MIDI parts in the sequencer.
I downloaded soundtouch long time ago, just haven't had time to test it properly. Well, back to black mesa...:hihi:

Jorgen - I know you already realize this, but Soundtouch can work in real time according to the features list. This was merely pointed out to those not familiar with it.

Damn, I shoud not have waited so long - it's time I try out Xtal. Hey Jens, does Xtal eat much CPU? Stable?

No! Yes! :-D

Audio time-stretching like acid would mean I can dump the buggy thing and do all my work on one wonderful piece of coding.

This just keeps getting better and better.

tried xtal and didnt like it (kinda buggy app :( ).

Yet soundstretch (a command line tool using the soundtouch library ) is totally amazing. can do everthing from great sounding time/pitch changes to wiiiiiicccckkkkkeeeeeed jungle timestretch effects (use the -quick switch)

Man, I'd really love to see this implemented in Ext!!!

Does the Gnu license allow anyone to use it in a commercial software?
