Newbie Getting Started

Hi there, I'm using tracktion with mackie spike. I just set everything up for the first time in tracktion and recorded a guitar part, but when I hit playback all I hear is a miserable distorted sound. It sounds fine while recording, any suggestions for what I'm doing wrong here?

Couple of suggestions. It sounds like you're recording the signal too hot. Try adjusting the Spike so that the incoming sound isnt being clipped (going in the red, above -0 db's). Unless the distorted sound is coming from Tracktion itself and not the audio, then you probably need to increase your buffer size in the soundcard control panel. Hope that helps.
