It an excellent plug, but use it judiciously. Works as exciter too. I had it a long time. I paid $100 way back when and it has been worth every penny.

Jackle, don't talk nonsense, please release long pre-announced bassline and the filter, please.
Suggestion for bassline: Make a poll, including audio examples of bassline and ask, what people would pay for this vsti. It must be cheaper than abl. Then you can say it's the world best sounding bassline vsti and the cheapest. Better than abl. Okay, there is also the phoscyon in the pipeline but release date and pricing is unknown. Have send a request yesterday to the polish boys. But don't think it will enhance the release date ..
Why do you often announce something but never release? Aren't you a good programmer? Hmmm .. Not very serious ..

Yes I agree. BBE Sonic Maximizer is very popular plugin, praised by CM, FM, SOS... Great plugin but you can`t use it on everything.Chase Altertone wrote:HAHAHA
The BBE sonic maximizer is really old AND popular (legendary?). It's mentioned all the time here!

wrong.Ahh - the old BBE effect. BBE was great for making crappy 4 track cassette recordings sound a bit brighter and clearer. If you need to use this on your digital recordings, you are doing something wrong. It can easily ruin your sound. It works by simply splitting the signal into 3 bands, and delaying the phase of the middle band. This has the effect of letting the bass and treble hit your ears first. Allegedly this is to compensate for phase skewing in bad electronics - and with crap like cassette tape and bad hifi speaker, there is some truth. But for good equipment, it's simply a phase destroyer. A nice eq is much better. Or - you can get a synth edit version of BBE from
Psychoaccoustic enhancement has nothing whatsoever to do with particular recording media. Even a top notch professional digital mix can be enhanced, and often are. Enhancers are as relevant today as they ever were. A BBE will have the same effect on a cassette 4 track as a 24bit/96KHz digital recording on a RME card.

That's true. and i don't agree with the post that says you can't use it on everything. there are nands that refuse to play without a BBE in the rig. You really could use it on everything. it was an amazing innovation and it has stood the test of time. There are other options out there now...like 4front's Contour Max plug, which i'm always promoting becuase it's just fantastic...and this new spectralive...but they all have a character of their own and bbe was one of the originals. At least one of the most used. I don't know anybody that has a studio who doesn't have a BBE somewhere in there.
peace!

Hell, my TV has a BBE sound preset. Seriously.
What a f**king piece of genius! I'll probably be packing my h/w BBE away soon (Spectralive and all that...) - and rather than just leave it to collect rat droppings in the attic, I can strap it across my TV.
Wow...thanks for a great idea.
