Who uses 96K multisampled instruments? Which sound company (or your own?)? What sort of instrument types? How's your polyphony? On what CPU? What sampler? What audio card?
Just curious. Thanks!

I think SS2 is approaching 96,000 multisampled instruments... or is that not what you meant?

I think 96khz sampled instruments are very rare. 24-bit samples are not even in the majority yet. Though, I'm sure the base recordings for many of the latest libraries were done in 96khz and then converted down..

Do we really need 96 KHz 24 Bit samples? Sure, they can be recorded 24 or 32 bit
and 96 KHz originally. I feel like the sound quality is still great when the end user
gets his samples converted to 16/44,1.
Do we really hear a difference? Would VSL (or any other library) really sound better
if the had 24 bit samples? If yes, WHO is there to actually hear a difference?
I could see that it makes a difference, though, when working with - let's say -
5 dynamic layers, where the loudest layer will use the 16bit range and the most silent
layer might only use a bit range of maybe 12 bit.
That said, I don't have any 96K samples.
