Record mono guitar in FL Studio?

I hope there is a simple answer to this. I plug my guitar into the right side of an Edirol UA-25 using ASIO. How can I tell FLS to only record the right side? It seems to always want to record stereo.

Really?? I have no issue recording mono with my M-Audio Delta 1010LT.....each input is mono on it and takes two inputs to make a stereo signal. If anything I have to add a Fruity Balance to the FX channel I record through and set it so that I get a sterao signal......you may want to try that for the opposite. Just set the pan all the way to the left or right on a Fruity Balance to get that mono signal you want.

Thanks for the replies.
@Debutante: How do you do this?
@donbrad3: When I select an input in the FLS mixer, it shows Edirol UA25 L+R but not the individual sides. Tracktion lets me break up the stereo pair.

I'm not sure if FL will allow you to break up the signals like that, but it does allow for them to be combined into one. That's what the Fruity Balance can do for you (also on the FX channel there is a stereo knob that you can turn all the way to the left for Mono, though I'm not sure if that will help). I would also look into your sound device to see if it can seperate the signals coming in. It may be that FL is not seeing the option for your device.

OK, I've been playing around a bit and I'm convinced that Fruity can't or won't record a true mono signal; at least not directly.
As donbrad3 suggested, while recording, to send the guitar from hard right to the middle, in the FX channel in the mixer, grab the Stereo Separation knob in the Amp section (between EQ and Send and above the peak meter). Twist the knob hard right. This will record the guitar on both left and right.
As Debutante suggested, I edited the recording after the fact and made it mono. When the recorded clip appears in the playlist, click on the down arrow/triangle and select Edit sample... In the wave editor, right click in the sample and select Process | Stereo <--> Mono. Then save the file. This will cut the size of the clip in half.
In my opinion, this is a real pain in the ass. I hope FL Studio will allow true mono recording soon. I believe most other hosts can do it. If you record two signals at the same time (guitar and voice), you'll have to split the clip to do any processing. At any rate, thanks for the replies and I hope this helps others.

At least two methods I can think of:
1.In the FL Mixer just above the volume slider in each channel is a stereo wideness knob. Turn it all the way down and then you can pan your signal anywhere you want in mono.
2. -Go to channel settings
-Choose edit sample
-Process to mono

chardin, do this:
put a "FL mute" and mute the right side (just in case you want another guitar on the second line) now turn teh stereo separation knob all the way to the right.
Now you have the guitar centered.
I usually take the "D" section on the mixer and setup all my ins there, identified with names and a different color (could be the color of your interface), turn their volumes down, and save to a template.
When working on a new project all i have to do is to go to section "D", select one input and turn its volume up, press the arm button and start recording.

sorry for the cool but unreadable font hehe, I couldn't resist to choose it on photoshop.

Spyro, many thanks for the picture. As always, a picture is worth a 1,000 words.
I noticed you have a metronome and peak controllers in channels 58 and 59. How do you set these up? Please forgive the n00b questions but I'm still trying to get my head around Fruity.
