Site online again!!!!
Here the infos, before site is going offline again  :
Ableton is proud to announce the release of Live 5, the team's biggest development effort since the initial release of Live in 2001. The version 5 feature set extends each aspect of Live-from creation to production to performance-while making the program easier and even more fun to use.

DAW Features. Live 5 includes advanced and creative DAW features to satisfy any audio professional. Read more about clip Freeze, plug-in delay compensation, launchable Arrangement locators and Mackie Control support. Details...

Remix Features. Get ready to remix! Live 5 includes a host of new remix- minded features, assuring instant remix and mash-up gratification. MP3 support, automatic tempo-matching, Complex Warp Mode and the new clip transport make remixing a breeze. Details...

Organizational Tools. Never lose ideas again! Live 5 features simple tools for saving, previewing and accessing any idea on your hard drive. Explore the new "Live Clip" file format, better browsing, new preset management, Device Groups and the new library. Details...

Instruments and Effects. Live 5 introduces a selection of innovative new devices, bringing even more creative possibilities. Check out Beat Repeat, Phaser, Flanger, Auto Pan, Saturator, Arpeggiator and the updated Simpler. Details...

Live 5 also brings countless improvements to existing features; for instance, you can change the properties of multiple clips at once, resize and minimize the width of tracks in the Session View, use right-click context menus for most functions, use VST MIDI effects and use a count-in for recording. Version 5 is even easier to learn thanks to a new set of lessons and an improved lesson reader.

Live 5 beta testing will begin soon. The release is scheduled for late July 2005. Live 5 pricing information can be found here.

On this occasion, we would like to express our special gratitude to the Live users. Your support has allowed us to augment the development team with new talent, helping us to make Live 5 such an early reality!

Man, it doesn't mention any upgrade to the MIDI editor. I would've appreciated more quantize/groove features, and a somewhat richer editor. . .

I think there is a lot unsaid.

There are lots of midi improvements I wanted (even though the top one of midi routing is there :D ) , and we will see soon exactly what it's got.

This is sweet!

it looks like the device chaining is only for the 'Live instruments' bad move in my opinion, I would like to see that feature apply to all vst instruments and effx although I still won't be using anything else after this upgrade :D

You mean device groups?

Yesss... I called some shops this afternoon to find out the best price on Project5... No More after reading this...I will stick to LIVE! Live 4 for me was a devine revalation after 16 years (you know, running it from a floppy on a 1040ST...) of Cubase. I work in strategic consultancy and last week we showed a Live session on the beamer to our customer. We used it as a metaphor for how you can efficiently handle complex matters (like music production)..

I seriously have been fighting an internal battle, looking to use LE7 or T2 as my main sequencer, but I just got a UC33e and the only one that works really well with it is Live4. So I've just made the final decision (for this year at least) and will stick with Live5. Everything else forces me to make compromises, and with Freeze the only real compromise with Live is fixed. Sweet!

Launchable Arrangement Locators

Live 5 offers locators with MIDI mapping and quantized recall. Using the mouse, computer keys or MIDI messages, you can drop locators on the fly during playback or recording. Each locator can be named and assigned to a computer key or MIDI message. Jumping to a locator is subject to real-time quantization, just like launching Session View clips and scenes. Previous/Next buttons allow you to jump from locator to locator
.

kicks ass!!!
