Is it possible to sync a desktop machine running FLS Producer Edition to a laptop running Adobe Audition?

If so, what do I need to do? Looking at AA, it seems it can write and read SMPTE but FLS does not (as far as I can tell). And to be honest, this type of thing always confuses me.

Also, has anyone successfully sync'd FLS with a hardware multi-track recorder. If so, which one?
