Never been interested before, but now, as I am facing some serious time driving around the country, I've realised that it would be convenient to have hundreds of albums in one box. So, coupla questions ...
1)Anyone using such a thing in their car? How is it hooked up to the car stereo system?
2) Any recommendations on which box to get?

lil' sis got one of the Creative Zen ones for her birthday, i liked it a lot better than the ipods i've seen.
as for connecting to your car system: there are wireless fm transmitter thingies available that (weakly) broadcast the tunes from your player so you can just tune your radio in and listen that way.
Not sure how legal they are though you can quite openly get one for the ipod (griffin itrip)... lots on ebay to be imported from the far east...

get one of those little FM transmitter thingies. Stick it in your mp3 player then tune in the radio - bingo! (and don't get an ipod unless you want people to think you're a wanker is my advice)

it like an ordinary cassette but it doesn't actually play, it just delivers the audio to the tape heads via a wire so you can hear itManc Chris wrote:WTF though is a 'tape with a wire on'

In the UK you can get a Creative Zen 20Gb on the web for £149 from Amazon/Comet/PC World. Shop prices are about £25 more.
Also you can buy the cassette thingy from Argos for £9.99.

Errr, you put the cassette thingy into the hole of your cassette player where you normally put cassettes. That is, if you have a cassette player in your car. I don't.Manc Chris wrote:Ok, cheers guys, nearly there now. Just one thing though, where does this caseette/wire thing, connect to the car system? My car CD has no inputs at all ????
The FM transmitter thing sounds pretty cool.
By the way, despite being trendy, the iPods are pretty cool. I bought a 6GB Mini and I'm very happy with it. The input wheel is, IMO, much better than the scroll thing on the Zen... YMMV. However the non-replaceable battery (in favor of design aesthetic) is kind of a stupid approach. The Creative Zen line is pretty cool too.
P.S. I can't believe any guys on this forum are actually praising Creative products. All I ever read, regarding them, is SoundBlaster and EMU bashing. Then again I hate Apple and Macs and I bought an iPod... go figure!
