Does anybody know where I can find these soundfonts?

Post

Do a search on this forum. It's there. If not, many people here have it, and can maybe help you. Sorry, I don't personally use it, and my copy is stuffed on a CD somewhere.

I have them at D:/soundfonts/orchestral :)

In fact I was looking for them the other day but all the links I tried were dead or wrong. I did find Strings_DXS_Super_Orchestra (strings only, 13 MB) but its zip file wouldn't unzip unfortunately. So any help would be appreciated by me as well!

All the best,

If you can't beat your computer at chess, try kick-boxing.

Thanks a lot for this.

Now all I have to find is the 136 MB splendid grand and I'm good to go.

Peace.

Was it downloaded from sf2midi.com with a dialup connection?

Post

Voidoid S,

Thanks for replying. Well, not with a dial-up connection, but my broadband was really slow at the time. But it seems I got the whole package though.

I got tired searching for that, 1GB Maestro Concert Grand is the best free one (but its Giga format)

It could easily be converted to SF by a program like vsampler(the demo can do it)

I did it myself.

I think I just found the SJ soundfont, but not posted by a company but a private person.

I'll just test it myself and tell you if it works and if it is that file.

I guess that my 4 years of German turned out to be of some use .:)

However, some of the patches seems to be missing, all patch numbers aren't used. it jumps upwards at times.

And for some reason it crashes on me sometimes when I switch patches in the "Strings 1-3 section"

Well that's the thing, it would LOOK like it downloaded OK, but the zip would be corrupt. They cut off people's downloads if they take too long, and if your broadband was really slow at the time, that's probably the culprit.
Try downloading it again, if your connection is any better, it's the best sounding free slow strings I've ever heard.
