Ok, when I got Kontakt2 through I managed to get the program installed but when it came to the libary my (very old) DVD drive fired up the install programme, span the disk intermittantly then gave up and after that would not engage the any disks.

I finally got round to buying a new one today, got it installed ok but when I put the 1st library disk in the drive reads that it has WAVs on it and assumes it's an audio disc. I cannot get it to autoplay and fire up the installer.

I can't see any way to disassociate the the audio so that it just fires up. When I explore the disk I have a folder with the samples/progs and 2 hidden files, Desktop DB & Desktop DF which don't open when double clicked.

Anyone have any ideas how I can make this autorun?

Cheers

Andy

(Also on a side issue, the new DVD has created 2 drives in My Computer! E: is the new DVD, F: is my CDRW but then G: is a ghost drive!)

I have autorun disabled myself as it's a PITA but I don't think they autorun anyway - you just need to copy the folders over to where you want them to be - then in Kontakt 2 options tell it where the sample library path is and restart it.

This happens to me sometimes. Usually, I just have to right-click the CD-Rom drive, select "Explore" and you should be able to see all the files. You can try what aMUSED suggested or try launching the installer from there.

There is no installer to run - just folders to copy ;)

Thanks guys, I'll try copying over. Got bigger problems now!!

Of course.

Crap, I should just stop trying to read near the end of the day.

I've had to uninstall the Pinnacle software that came with it as it was locking the system :? . Seems to have sorted the mystery drive problem aswell. :)

Thanks

Copying over seem to have worked fine. Took an age though, about 1½ hours on 2.6 P4 w/1gb DDR.

A 2x DVD Rom drive will only copy 3 megs a second. Sounds about right for 8 gigs of samples for what you have, and copying hundreds of little files takes a lot longer than 1 big file.

Yeah? You lovin' the new lib? I can't wait to check it out, but I'm waiting for Kontakt 2 to get more ironed out before I throw down that much cash - especially the plug-in Output situation.

Came as Komplete Care. That turned out to be a sweet deal!!

Yeah the output sounds like a prob, but what would I know? Haven't been able to out of stand alone yet to fire it in Orion. Orion's crap with multi outs anyway so might not bother me too much.

Yeah, it all depends on your setup. Cubase users got hit particularily hard.

RMIV is the only multi out plug that works well with Orion for me. Gonna get 16 channels whatever
