Buying from Scandinavia?!

I find that buying products from Scandinavian countries seems very convoluted. I own a powercore and the whole plugin process is like a maze - not to mention their unintuative support system.

I want to download a CD from PowerFX and even after registering it seems impossible to fathom out how to buy it. I've emailed them so I'm sure they'll sort it out.

It might be because I'm being a bit thick today but as a seasoned software download purchaser I've not come across as many complicated processes as the ones the Scandinavians seem to think up.

In all seriousness do the Scandinavian countries have complicated financial transaction processes as a rule? Are they more complicated than the rest of Europe? Or does it just seem that way?

I'm wondering what they have to go through to buy a loaf of bread. :-o :P

Ever tried Kjaerhus Audio s Plugins, they are good, they are free, well some off them are, and is easy to install and use. Nothing complicated about it. :)

Well and easy to buy also. :D

Depends a lot on what you define as Scandinavia... =)

Well, I personally have to go through the park. The local bakery is on the other side. There's another one up the road too... :P
This concept of "Luv" confuses and infuriates us!

hmm... Try http://www.powerfx.com/beginnersguide
It actually DOES look a bit tricky, I'll admit. But there seems to be a step-by step guide. Hope it helps.

That's just the thing... them swedes etc. insist on the fact that Finland isn't a part of Scandinavia, hence the preference for "northern countries" or similar term in each country's respective language (Pohjoismaat in finnish)...

Old pet peeve of mine - as Scandinavia in english is used to refer to what those pesky swedes, danes, norwegian and icelanders refer to as Scandinavia...

That's the educational bit for today.

What exactly is the problem?

The only Scandinavian product I've ever bought, that I know of, is a car. It had to be shipped to Halifax first. Expensive, but not really convoluted.

I found out that PowerFX is having problems with server or payment system so that's why it won't work. Should be fixed soon. 8)

I think TC Electronic have patented the word, 'convoluted', to describe the Powercore installation, plugin registration and support process.

Well... geographically speaking "Scandinavia" is a peninsula (or cape), including therefore Norway & Sweden.

IMHO all of us who have to live up here should get rebate on all Scandinavian audio products:

Not exactly. Scandinavia used to refer to what the romans knew about the non-Saxon area surrounding the Baltic Sea, which was then known's as Scadi Navia (Scade's Sea) after the goddess. They were a little far afield though when they bounced around up here, so they took Norwegian/Swedish peninsula to be an island. And Bornholm was bigger :hihi: If they had bothered to go to Finland or the eastern Baltic countries they would have been included
I got some maps they made in one of my books. Some scribe screwed up and put an "n" in there, writing Scandi instead of Scadi. Remember scribes couldn't necessarily read back then, they were just copying from the originals. The romans being none to particular about areas they didn't control just let it stick.
