Sounds fine. Anyone think of a reason not to do this? I might volenteer although I'm pretty new to the midi plug scene.
I know asseca is already doiong some hosting/compiling and also happens to be the manager of the auto-updated (super wonderful tool!). How about it asseca? Feel like adding midi plug-ins to the list of optional downloads?

I don't use MIDI plugins so you'll have to find another volunteer
I think the NDC Plugin pack is a *MUST HAVE*(and incidently Niall has given a very generous licence agreement pretty much allowing the redistrubution and freedom of use as far as saying it's cool to reverse engineer....just as long as you don't try to pass it off as your own work)...he was even cool when I asked if I could use his MIDIChanneliser plugin inside my own SE plugins(nF_NDC_ChannelDrive)and release them.
...other than the NDC MIDI pack I use my plugins and occassionally Jaltoh's Thalamus(MIDI Bussing and Delaying MIDI streams by samples or ms). I also use MDSPs Env2MID and Trollo alot(don't use Trollo so much for playing notes, but I always fill my unused keys with different types of switches/triggers which is an invaluable technique) ...I use to use Toby Bears plugins, but they are a bit dated at this point and replaced with other alternatives(still use humanisator on occassion) ...I have hundreds of MIDI plugins in my VST folder, but rarely need to go outside those few I mentioned to accomplish anything.

Hey thanks for checkin in, been outa the loop for a while. I did get it working, its amazing to be able to lengthen, delay. Not sure what my problem was before. It just seems like jthalmus is a pretty big machine, 90% of which I don't understand. Plus, it doesn't delay in sync. I actually fooled around a bit with SE about a year ago, but have forgottten it all, I could probably build it myself. Anyway thanks for all the goodies. . .NicFit wrote:did you figure this out? ....if not I'll be glad to give you an example file to show how it can be done.tinman wrote:I just gave Jthalmus a quick try, I was able to delay midi notes, so that was cool. My original idea was to try to delay midi note offs, so i could lengthen notes. I just tried filtering the noteoffs to a different channel with munger, send to jthalmus, rechannel back into the vst, but didn't work.
I'm using xoxos midi note spewers, so the notes aren't always as long as i'd like.
Thanks again for all your great plugs, maybe I can get that jthalmus to work for me.
I'll keep your idea in mind(just got a very full plate at the moment)...I just don't consider it a priority since it can already be done with a couple plugins that are already available
I use to build specific MIDI plugins for every situation....and before I knew it I had over 300 custom SE plugins, which really slows the system down since I couldn't remove them even though many of them were only use in one track. That's why I did the Munger series(which are able to replace about 200 of those old plugin I have)

I am currently working on eXTsetup v1.3, which allow more setup flexibility.
So far the MidiPlugs list:
- Thalamus
- Axxeom's Trollo
- NDC MIDI plugin pack
- MDSP Env2Mid
- TobyBear's MID2VST and VST2MID
- NicFit's Midi Plugins ( 30MB )

Remember the poor dial-up users!asseca wrote:. . .- NicFit's Midi Plugins ( 30MB )
They won't be able to DL single files of this size unless the DL is restartable or they have installed a DL Manager.
perhaps keep the max size to 10-15 MB ?

this can be slimmed down considerably:asseca wrote:NicFit's Midi Plugins ( 30MB )
How about a cut down list...
nF_PC_CK2
nF_MungRack2.3
soma_CC_Form
nF_MIDI_Filter
nF_Chords1
nF_BeatSync
nF_TransMSG
nF_NoteLauncher
nF_ControlFront(the new one...not that crap on the site)
...maybe a couple "multi-page" special versions that contain the functions of multiple plugins?...could get the size down considerably, but CPU/memory usage would be slightly more than running than running the individual equivalant.
Anyway If you are serious about making these selectable I'm sure we can come up with a few more to add to the list... Topaz Chordworx, silicons Shoryuken2, R0zzers StepMachine, accousmodules...I could probably add another 20 to the list if you wanna keep going, but avoiding a little bit of crossover in features is gonna be hard....each of the plugins has there own special way of intracting with the user. It's difficult or me to choose since I wouldn't want to be without any of them. But at the same time I think alot of new users might just check everything, not knowing what they were getting themselves into.
(Also would be cool if you could include check boxes for machineII+kits, and EnergyPro even thought there not MIDI)
BTW Trollo is from Axxeom, not Toby
Looking forward to v1.3(shouldn't that be v1.4)

eXTsetup v1.3.1 released...
The Setup-list can now be extended by users to contain up to 100 items.
So, anyone can now add their own downloads to the list.
Big question do we still need plugin packs? Problem is with packs containing 3rd party plugins, that we have to get permission from each developer whose plugin are to be included in a pack...

i just stumbled apon them organizing some bookmarks, and that nf_Chords strumming plugin looks pretty damn handy.
