Errrh. That's definitely not true. When they are on tour they usually come to germany, too. E.g. on 03/27/2004 there was a KW concert in cologne, palladium. On 03/28/2004 they played in Hamburg. 04/06/2004 in Munich, 04/07/2004 in Frankfurt, 04/08/2004 in Dresden...

personally i dont give a toss *what* they are or are not playing, and only a fool would expect them to do rock antics...laptop mixing and midi controlling however is boring as batshit to an audience in an arena/concert hall in my view...however, i still think the video show was a bit ho-hum...some people tend to be a bit cringing when it comes to kraftwerk, the last lp was a vast improvement, however lets not forget, they're *not* perfect and have released a few clunkers here and there...it is possible to be a huge fan without having a 'just f**king love it or not' simplistic view...

When I go to a concert where the performers are of my dad's age, I expect them to sit so they don't hurt themselves. Kfartwerk stood like men, so points to them!

I saw the opening gig for this tour, and it was fantastic. I loved the visuals, the guys had their old charm and they played all the good songs. One reason could have also been the sound, undoubtedly the best ever in the location (Jäähalli).

Some of us just have longer attention spans.

If you like this you'll want to see them live. If you don't, stay at home.

As to wether they play live i can only say this. The copenhagen version of this song was very different! (in fact all boots from the tour sound different so a lot of it is live, or live manipulation of the sequensing)

And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Spectacle is the guarantor of presence and authenticity, whereas laptop performance represents artifice and absence, the alienation and deferment of presence.

for an 8 minute track like Vitamin that could have easily been shortened to 3 or 4 minutes?

(which is what I was referring to in my original post)

ummm... I only said that I have no idea what they are doing. I assume they are doing something or we the audience and they the performers wouldn't be there. Also, I did exaggerate a little. I did see them noodle a bit on the keys and move the computer mice a lot. I just didn't really know what was going on and I don't want to make any assumptions here. But it did sound great (even better than the original releases for some songs). Thanks LBN for that post explaining the live show.

Even so, I did really enjoy the show and I loved the visuals.

i really need to calm the f**k down, sorry....i wasn't directing it at anyone in paticular....
i want to go but couldn't find anyone interested, my one "rock" buddy in the city gave me the whole "they just stand there" 'tude, and i guess i got miffed when i got some of that here, didn't expect it....
anyway-if someone is going it would be fun to have a beer before the show at the green mill or that weird country bar, or if anyone has an extra ticket pm me...

thanks and  ,
