With the Garritan GPO group buy and the sale price of EWQL Silver edition, both cost about the same right now.
Can anyone offer their opinion on the EWQL Silver?

To me, it really doesn't matter...they're of course sampled differently...but in the end, the differences would be small.
But, when you get to the more expensive library, then you'll see major differences in articulations, expressions, close mics vs. far away mics, hall space dynamics, etc,.
There are a few different libraries out there...but if you just want to compare GPO and Silver (I have Gold btw), I don't think there are "major" differences....
But you know what? I might be wrong...so, if anyone want to correct me, please do.

There are quite a few threads about this, a forum search will help.
One of the main perceived differences is that the sound of GPO is more classical symphonic, while the sound of EQWQLSO Silver is more bombastic (for soundtracks)... and of course there are differences in the user interface.
With the current price you should buy both
