See title for question #1.... This year? Maybe? '06? I've got the rest of this month off pretty much if you need someone to beta test, edit samples, sweep the floor, take out the trash, wash your car.....anything to help the project along :-)

#2 Having just finished a couple of surround mixes, it always sucks to go back to mixing in stereo.. Is there any provision for surround instruments or stems, 5.1+ outs in Studiophonik?

Plus, ANY kind of demos would be nice..... Just a taste?

We have a team working on Studiophonik. As you can imagine it is a lot of sample editing. Thousands of just individual drum samples alone! Then guitars are in the multitude as well. It is going to be great though.

Drums can be mixed in 5.1 if you use Nuendo or a host that can mix in 5.1

Hey Squids,

I'm eagerly awaiting for the pricing and availability of both Studiophonik and Mirslov. Any idea? In general...say before Christmas? Or 2006? I hope it's sooner than later...but if later will end up with us have an awsome product, then I will wait. I'm going to start saving up...hope it's not too expensive....

P.S. and you did mention something about a HUGH drum library...is it an "instrument" or just a library for ST2? :) And the project date of that is?

According to the IK Multimedia press releases, the prices will be $499 for Miroslav and $399 for Studiophonik. I’m counting on a nice discount for us SampleTank 2 XL owners. :D

I don't mind a slight delay, gives me some time to save up after all these GB:s and special offers :hihi: (EastWest would have to bring out a Storm Drum GB, wouldn't they? :? :help: ).

$150 off of Miroslav with the current GB...that's...$350. Plus $400 for Studiophonik...$750US. :p I can also use these "sounds" in ST2 right? Now, that would be fun....

I better start saving!

Yes, ST2 with all of these add-ons - SS2, Miroslav, Studiophonik a s o - will be a real powerhouse. With the on-board fx you’ll be able to do a lot within one plugin. If I didn’t already own ST2 (and SS2) I might have considered something like EastWest’s Colossus as an all-in-one solution, but now that I’ve started along the IK/SR route I think I’ll stick with it. Expanding the library piece by piece also fits my budget a bit better – Colossus is $995.

I think IK/SR have a nice concept with the SampleTank format – start out with ST2 which has a very broad scope with decent quality samples from many different instrument groups and then add SS2 for more depth on the synth side, Miroslav for orchestral and Studiophonik for top quality drums, basses an guitars. What I’d like to see is a dedicated ethnic library in ST format, I get the feeling Colossus is a bit stronger in that respect (I think it draws on the RA library).

That's why I choose ST2 over using Kontakt 2 (even with all the new enhancements), just too much time to program.... :)

I am not making a HUGH drum library. I don't know him. But, we've been working on a mountain of drum archives. They may in fact end up being split onto multiple products because I am sitting on over a terabyte of drum samples. Yikes what have I done??!!!! ;) But, that's in all kinds of forms, bit rates, sample rates etc. That said, we are working on several new drum libraries with various features and price points. So, stay tuned.

Studiophonik itself will have quite a drum collection and some mic mixing ability along with built-in studio fx. That'll be a nice one and of course it is compatible with ST as well. That'll be here end of Summer I'd guess. Miroslav will be out sooner than that. No official release date yet but we sure are getting close and boy does it sound GOOD!

You can count on me being the first one to drop down the pre-order...you go Squids! :)

Just love the way you continue to keep us "customers" happy.
