Would the GP be good for bass guitar? I mean, for subtle warmth, slight grit and powerful overdrive? Someone has mentioned here before that it would be good for bass. Please give me some depth about this use of the GP.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I have the POD XT Live. My problem with it is this. If you run it to your DAW (I use Ableton Live 4) through a USB connection, you can only hear what is coming out of the POD and out of the DAW through headphones out of the POD.
What I want is to be able to have the guitar running through the POD XT Live, into the Ableton Live and then hear everything through my soundcard to my monitors. Doesn't work that way. Can't hear anything because you have to select the POD as your driver. I've tried ASIO4ALL and did not find that to be a solution.
The only way to not have to use headphones is if you drop the USB connection and just do a 1/4 output from the POD to the soundcard (I have an Edirol UA25) and run Ableton Live using ASIO (but not the POD's). You are only getting a mono output (and so any stereo effects would be messed up).
Any other solutions? Am I missing something?

feyshay, use a mixer and hook the outputs of the XT Live into that, then route the mixer into the soundcard.

The wdm section of guitar port is useless.........when I used to do sonar I tried this and it just didn't work.
I don't think my other post was clear enough (I'll edit it away in a bit)
the USB cannot be used as just an editor without taking over my system. This must be because it's ASIO and that means one at a time. Also, it seems to be more assertive than other soundcards since it frequently bumps (name your soundcard here) in favor of podxtasio.
There should be a disable or some other way to just use the usb as an editor (line6edit does not solve this problem)

feyshay-
I'm doing pretty much what you just said, and it works for me.I have my PodXT in the Atomic amp, connected to my laptop via USB.I have an Echo Indigo I/O in the laptop too.Using ASIO4ALL in Live,
I have the guitar tracks routed back to the Atomic, and drums and vocals going out the Indigo to my KC-500 keyboard amp.
I haven't tried monitoring the guitar in realtime-coming in through USB and out through the Indigo-so maybe that routing wont work...

What do you mean using the USB "as just an editor"?
You dont need to be running ASIO in any form to get MIDI over the USB.
I've run L6Edit over USB at the same time I'm using Echo's ASIO drivers for my Indigo, and there is no conflict.
