just downloaded the Blue Tubes bundle ... what do you all think of these critters ... 499 dollars! .... worth it?

They sound good. Just way over priced. UAD would be a better investment...

Not impressed at all. "The Sound" you expect just isn't there. I liked the Essential Bundle much more, actually. But I agree with L. Headphone; if you're gonna throw down that much for vintage emu, get the UAD-1!

I agree, not worth the money.

The tube driver does a mild warmth, but then just crosses over to distortion.. none of the tube "saturation" or "squish" one may be looking for. Not only that, I was getting some crappy artifacts trying to use the noise gate on the tube driver. YMMV however.

The other effects, eh. I'm sure they have thier place, but I just didn't feel bowled over by them. I feel that for 499, I'm better off running a hardware tube preamp.

Yea, for 499, get a nice Chinese Hi-Fi pre.
