What do you like to do that has nothing to do with music? You like to read? Computer gaming?
You don't have to tell me where you live...but just want to see what Squids do with his "normal" day.

It's very different form yours, different as night and day, so to say.zai wrote:I'm just interested to know...what is your day like

Maybe you could give us a heads-up next time you gig with the band, I'm sure a few of us local folk would love to see you playSquids wrote:I also play in a band locally for fun. It's a bunch of friends I grew up with. Nothing serious, just playing covers we like and doing these gigs that they book.
When I was on Womad in 1993 I had heard that Peter Gabriel's daughter Melanie might have a sort of crush on me. Well, it was me and Manu Katche apparently. So, I flirted a little bit with her on the tour. She was very nice and sweet. Then I blew it one day by taking a gorgeous blonde bimbo backstage. I remember Melanie and the tour manager looking over at me in disgust as if they were thinking "typical guy musician". I sort of felt cheap for doing it but it was easy to play the "wanna go backstage" card. I am lazy so if it falls right into my lap (so to speak) then... of course nothing happened that night, honest. Needless to say PG didn't become Dad-in-law either.Arglebargle wrote:Squids gets a lot of hot action from groupies.
That's a stretch.telebunke wrote:Is that from the virtual groupies included in ST2.1?Arglebargle wrote:Squids gets a lot of hot action from groupies.![]()
A groupie VST instrument would be really nice, with groupies that have a nice voice for backing vox, of course.
(ex-)Users of Cubasis VST 4 and 5 will remember the singing monk brother gregory, something similar should be possible for groupies as well.![]()

We used to play local clubs. Tarpon Bend, Lulu's Bait Shack, Harbor Grill etc. but that was years ago. Now we only play high paying corporate gigs or parties of friends. For instance, this Saturday somehow as a favor we are playing for our friend's 15 year High School Reunion. It is the grade above mine and younger than the drummer's. We grew up playing in a band at the time so we'll do some old classic rock. It'll practically be a concert with requested tunes. The singer is a human jukebox.r_harms wrote:Maybe you could give us a heads-up next time you gig with the band, I'm sure a few of us local folk would love to see you playSquids wrote:I also play in a band locally for fun.
