Princeton...and PACE

Now that Princeton's having a GB for 2016 Stereo Room, I want it. Tried their non-PACE demo and like it more than any verb I've used except for maybe my UAD Plate...
Many of you probably have the Roomverb... what are your experiences with PACE? Personally I'm scared shitless of it, but it seems there's less invasive levels of PACE. Any good/bad experiences with system stability, post-Princeton Roomverb?

well actually I never had problems with PACE but this verb doesn't install any drivers and you should be okay..... simply try the PACE demo before you buy.... this verb is the best.... I LOVED IT FROM DAY ONE

As stated a few times already, there's a few different types of PACE, and the type used in the 2016 is not the same that has been identified as causing things like random restarts. It's actually the least intrusive version of PACE. Read DevonB's review on traxmusic for more info.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Think of it like this - PACE has mild, medium and hot. Roomverb is the mild version (only a registry key challenge response).
The version that has a driver that installs and sits on your machine is the hot version. This I have had problems with crashing on my machine when Izotope implemented it at the beginning of version 3 of their plugs. Since then, it was replaced with another copy protection for Izotope's and the problem went away.

So the Princeton does not install PACE's infamous tkpd.sys? As a Waves 3.x owner, that file/driver caused many BSODs for me.DevonB wrote:Think of it like this - PACE has mild, medium and hot. Nope, not installed. It's a registry key, that's it. Trust me, I looked. I've had problems with tkpd.sys in the past myself.urock wrote:So the Princeton does not install PACE's infamous tkpd.sys? PACEoholics Anonymous first meeting:
"Hi, my name is (withheld) and I like to complain about PACE even though I'm not even sure what I'm talking about"
Reply (a multitude of people):
"Hi (withheld), welcome to KVR"
There seriously isn't that much humor on this subject anymore. Especially when the complainers still aren't in touch with reality.

And in case you take this too seriously, there's the Humorless Anonymous.

Funny thing, coming from the guy who seems to be bitching about this in every other thread and yet hasn't even really understood what people have been saying repeatedly...
That sharting business sounds serious though.

Bullshit. I use mainly Ableton Live 4 and Princeton Digital has no problems with it. It used to have until mid january. You probably have tried a very old version of that plugin. Try it again.plastic wrote:another problem with princeton is that it doesn't seem to work with ableton live.

Chief, I only even mentioned PACE one other time. And what people have been saying repeatedly (on other forums besides KVR) is that PACE has caused a lot of system meltdowns.jmh wrote:Funny thing, coming from the guy who seems to be bitching about this in every other thread and yet hasn't even really understood what people have been saying repeatedly...
You're talking about what two or three people have said repeatedly.
This information is important to me. f**k off.
