No.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

i don't believe it would be good business practice to make any software processor dependent. not since about 1982 or so.so P5V2 must be OS dependent then...not processor dependent
any software that makes calls to the operating system for things like memory allocation, file I/O and such could be considered operating system dependent.
Apple switching to Intel chips doesn't make it any easier for any company to port their Windows software to Mac OS (well maybe deep down some EAS code -- maybe) -- but it may make it easier for non-Apple companies to supply a virtual Windows platform to run on Mac hardware, but I've already read that Apple is going to discourage this at the hardware level and any other way they can

I'll be affected by this transition, much like any other developer that wants to / has to develop cross platform.
In the long run we will no longer worry about processor specifics like little/big endian, vector engines, and stuff. So it's good news not only for users, but also for us devs.
Plus, the tools for doing the shift are said to be very easy to use. I very much hope so, but I have no reason to not believe it either.
Cheers,
Stefan

So, it means that PC and Mac will have the same processor power in the future...only that one runs on the Windows platform and one on the OSX platform...level playing field maybe? And now, we can safely compare OS performance then...let the debating begins...again....
I wonder...will Intel make MAC only processor and PC procesor for Windows.... Hm...

nope - they're clearly talking about x86 (Intel's cisc cpu - Intel also has a very good risc cpu (XScale/arm successor) which I think has an architecture that is a bit more similar to the PowerPc but that's not what they're talking about... )zai wrote: I wonder...will Intel make MAC only processor and PC procesor for Windows....
