Im eagerly anticipating my SS2/ST2 bundle to get here and I was wondering are their any good vocal packs to add to the bundle? Im looking for choir style/ambient vocals. I only want vocal sounds but im not sure what pack to get that will work with ST2 and i didnt really see a pure vocal pack on the website.

Well, you get a ton in Sonik Synth 2 plus there is another 200 megs + of previously unreleased vocal sounds on the bonus disc in the group buy so... that should keep you busy!

Personally I'm hoping for some stuff like whats in your Sonic Refills vol 19. I really liked what I heard in the demo and its just a pity its not directly compatible with Sampletank...

Very cool indeed
I realise that only the samples would have any meaning outside of Reason, but I think it was the samples I was hearing in the mp3 demo and what I like the sound of

Yeah, the Sonic Refill series relies heavily on the NNXT and Dr. Rex when there are drum loops. But, those sounds could be in other formats. We shall see.Mallory wrote:Very cool indeed

Here's my rundown of the gb bonus vox
(note: all default to resampling mode)
a varied vocal attack element (doesnt like stretch)
a great 16meg smooth pop ahh pad (works well with stretch)
2 synthetic 'vox' sounds - sorta 'gm'-like I suppose
a great 22meg female choir ahh pad (works ok with stretch)
a rather ordinary synthvox that sounds quite cool/freaky with stretch!
a great 8meg male pop ahh pad (work better without stretch)
same again but oohs this time
another synthy ah pad - not to my taste really
some mmms - not bad and only 1meg amazingly
a male&female choir singing aah with vibrato - good but stretch doesnt help
a synth format sound
a decent synthy choir sound
a great female pop ooh pad (works great with stretch)
a solo female voice - ok
another great ahh pad (stretch works well)
another great ooh pad with vibrato after a second or so (good with stretch too)
one more ooh pad with leading pitchbend up (somewhat beachboysy - well a bit)
2 breathy vox pads to finish
Overall some great poppy stacks of aahs and oohs in there . Classical choir fans may be disappointed but I'm not

Oops, I thought I was having deja vu for a moment there but I've just confirmed it...
7 of the samples in the bonus vox were already included in SS2 (I Elements B/ F Vocal Elements / Misc Vocal Elements)
Still, there are 13 that are not duplicates and hey, it was a freebie, so I'm not actually complaining you understand

Yeah, the vocal elements were included in case you wanted to mix together some of the sounds with them. Actually, this was taken right out of an upcoming vocal library that is like an extension of the vocal section of SS2 (or rather, things I took out of SS2 to make a vocal library, there are just the common vocal elements).
Anyway, it is a feebie. Those sounds can be had on the upcoming vocal library. I'll even give those that got the group buy a discount if they want to get the rest of it when it is released. Just remind me (as I know you guys always manage to do!
