In Reason 3.0, can the Redrum 16 step sequencer be mapped to a MIDI keyboard? I've never been able to make it work and i need it so i can make better drum fills.

c1 up on your midi keyboard, make sure that 'enable pattern section' button is deactivated.

When I deactivate "enable pattern selection" and hit the keys, only the "mute" buttons on the Redrum are activated, not the drum pads themselves. What am i doing wrong?

I believe you are in the wrong octave. I think the higher octaves mute channels. If you have a small midi keyboard, you may need to configure it to shift down 1 or 2 octaves (check your keyboard manual for that info)
