Waves IR1 impulse gain ????

Ok, this might be easy for someone but for me it isnt (i am new in convolution )

Every impulse reverb loaded in IR1 is to loud and i must spend some time adjusting volume etc for each impulse file...


In Pristine Space you have Auto Gain control and everything about loading your own impulses is so much easier than IR1....

Am i doin wrong something??

yeah you bought Waves IR1 ....not that it's bad it's far from that but it's way to expensive for the feature set

Does the gain inside IR1 matter? I'd think you could use the plug on a aux bus/send channel, and drop the return level to lower the "wet" gain.

That's how I use convo plugs... I haven't had much luck with em as insert plugs...

Maybe I'm missing something...

I downloaded the free impulses that Waves offered recently, and they were very loud, way past 0 dB (only possible because they were 32-bit floating point). The result was that the waveform display was off the scale in SIR, and in Windows Media Player they sounded like noise for most of their length. Wavelab Lite won't load 32-bit files; I had to use MATLAB to fix them...

So maybe Waves IRs are just louder - but there should be some kind of compensation for this, so you don't get blown away...
