Uh-yes they did. On the first page of the thread, Envoy said:"If I guess that it's Daniel's "Digital Synthesis #2", can I finally win something instead of buying it??? "keyman_sam wrote:What in the world is this anyways? no one gave a direct answer!!!!! P U L E E Z tell me what the hell this is, cos, i'm getting one.
A few posts later Big Tick said that Envoy was correct.

True, but it wasn't a direct reply and may have been missed by someone unfamiliar with Rhino's powerful sound. So here it goes...
The synth is Rhino 2 which is a super flexible synth. The sounds loaded into it are from a new bank being released this week named "Digital Synth 2" (DS2). DS2 uses a new set of waveforms (16MB) along with Rhino's own standard waves to produce a unique set of sounds. Up to six of these new waves (samples) can be layered , modified, and sent to the two filters at once for huge textures.
This thread was started to show people that Rhino is still a strong, capable beast that will be supported long into the future at a time when others have uncertain fates.

Just a thought - it would be nice to get a mail out to Rhino users whenever a new soundbank is finished. I apparantly missed out on DS #1 and without this thread I would have missed DS #2 as well.

My dad used to live in africa, and when his nose became blocked he discovered he had an elephant tick living in his sinus. Which was nice.Kriminal wrote:i had a big tick once...never going to Tenby again....Big Tick wrote:yeah, I had a choice between this and publicly announcing I was going out of business and selling BigTick - I chose the first...

Now if he'd said an elephant in Soho, well that's quite a different matter. Or was that a werewolf?Kriminal wrote:Hunter wrote:My dad used to live in africa, and when his nose became blocked he discovered he had an elephant tick living in his sinus. You know...about three or so months ago, something said "get z3ta+ and Rhino - that's all you'll need along with a few rock bass and drum samples".
So I said, "Okay". And bought z3ta+ and rhino (and a bunch of sound banks) and, against "orders" Wusik also and a couple of others due to the "group buy" phenomenon, but it just goes to show you - never argue with your own intuition unless you want to lose.
It's nice that Rhino will continue to be supported, 'cause it's really a dream machine. I have Angelina, too, for the "other" types of dreams...
P.S. None of this made any sense, but that's okay, because we all still have The Simpsons. (Bart, Homer, Jessica, etc.)

Yes, I would go for a bank like this also. One that reflects deep, dark, ominous, no hope, spacy, evil sounds. I think Jeff nailed what I am looking for.JeffSanders wrote:I'd find a use for that![]()
I especially like ghostly, haunting sounds. Half pure evil and sinister, half transcendental and dreamy.
Schizoid, if you will.
Also, I didn't notice this, but I found I use Rhino in almost 90% of all my songs. Rhino is an awesome synth and one I can't live without.
