Hi all.
I just busted out my old G3 (blue&white) tower from my storage. I want to start using it again but don't know what other programs are OS9 compatible.
I know I can run Reason and Ableton Live 4. But I just read the Mackie site and I cannot run Tracktion on OS9.
Can you guys please suggest other programs you know are that OS9 compatible.
Thanks!

Uh, I'd stop with Reason... that's about all you could do! And if you use 2.5, you'll be kickin'

I was able to use Computer Muzys on my old 6360/G3 400/136 MB RAM pretty well.
If you don't need heaps of tracks, it's the go. I think the cd on the magazine includes the Sound Manager ASIO driver.
Incidentally, it does go on OSX too, but the prosoniq ASIO driver is needed. Not bad on my new iMac, but it is in Classic.

just pick up any old magazine from the year 1999-2000.
i've owned a number of macs. i was actually was a mac user right up till os x came out then i jumped ship and bought a P4.
there was little audio software for os x then and barely any backward compatability plus i discovered acid pro.
when it was time to upgrade it was either a P4 or a G4...man i made the right decision.
things are much better now with soundtrack pro, garageband and logic, so i might get a G5 later.
you can run a gang of stuff on a G3 just remember your processing is a about 1/2 of a G4 so you can't go wild with running multiple vsti or a bunch of reverbs.
you should be able to run older versions of anything: logic 4 (or even 5), reason, DP 3, rebirth, cubase...you name it.
i still have logic 4 (with the old ADB dongles and that thick manual), an ADB midi interface, and other old mac goodies just sitting in my closet, so if you need anything just send me a message and i'll get rid of them cheap.

The freebies from www.prosoniq.com are not to be missed. They are offering SonicWORX Studio and Artist for OS 9 as a free download.
