Development of ManyStation

A few people have been asking about the future of ManyStation in light of the proposed development of WusikEngine. I am pleased to be able to share this good news with ManyStation users (and potential ManyStation users).

When the WusikEngine v2 is available and has proved to be stable, then we will adopt this new engine for ManyStation. This will be a free upgrade for existing users – the price for new users will remain at $99.99 (or $79.99 for WusikStation cross-grades). For you, the musician, this means you can have confidence that you can use ManyStation in a project today and if you return to the project in a year ManyStation will still work.

ManyStation is Manytone's flagship product and we will continue to develop it and support it. As an example of the development, in the next few weeks we will be making over 200 megs of new soundsets and many more patches available with our first ManyMores. We will make a formal announcement about these new products when we're ready to roll.

ManyStation is a musicians tool. Accordingly we place much greater emphasis on the sounds than we do on the engine, provided the engine is stable and efficient. The current version of ManyStation is a solid and reliable product. That is what we want to give you the users. We will not adopt WusikEngine v2 until it has been finalised and has been proved to be stable. We will not be asking users to participate in the WusikEngine beta test program – on the whole our users are musicians rather than guys who want to beta test new programs.

However, we have barely scratched the surface of the sound design capabilities with this version and so while we will be adopting version two of the WusikEngine, we will still be calling this version one of ManyStation. ManyStation v2 is still a twinkle in my eye and so I will not make any comments about its content.

As for the future of Manytone Music, we have always produced our products in a range of different formats to suit users’ needs. This practice will continue. We have several new products that have been under development for a while now. As a matter of policy we won’t announce these until we can confirm a release date. However, you can be assured that all ManyStation owners will be eligible for a cross-grade discount on our new upcoming VSTi products.

I hope this calms some of the (quite reasonable) jitters that some of you may have had. While I don't have all of the answers, I happy to answer any questions or address any concerns that anyone may have.

I can't leave without saying keep your eyes peeled for our new ManyMores. You guys are going to be blown away!!

Sounds great, Paul! What size of container will we need to keep the eye peelings in? A week's worth? A month? Just want to prepare my wallet peelings in advance. Thanks!

So even if dont pay to upgrade to WS2, we'll get the Ws2 engine as ManyTone owners?

Wow, thats generous.

Hi Guys
That's right ... But it is engine only update for ManyStation only.... But ManyStation still Stays at Version 1.

If you want WusikStation Version 2 and the included things for it ....then you will need to update that through Wusik.

Our user Base is Small compared to the amount of Wusik users so this was the least we could do being such a New Product .... But Yes it is pretty Generous isn't it !!! :-)

mandolarian .... Very Soon ...cool things ...
Including some Mando :-) (I was working on a few Electric Mandolins the last days)

Does that mean that I need not have paid for the upgrade from WS1 to WS2? :?

Depends on what you wanted. You'll get the WS2 engine as an MT owner, but not the WS2 content. If you didnt want the content then no, essentially you 'need not' have paid.

I assume you have Wusikstation too? Otherwise you could not have paid for the upgrade... And as WR stated you cannot use the WS2 engine for the WS1 content (as WilliamK anounced in another thread).

If you only have Manystation, the upgrade to WS2 for $29.95 is not valid anyway. You need WS1 to upgrade...

If you want to keep your WusikStation up to date and support William, then Yes, you need to go through Wusik for their update. (Providing you own WusikStation) Our free update will only be on ManyStation and is an engine only update.

Hi Paul

Just an idea for new sample content: I would love to see some good orchestral instruments, and you have a few: such as the cello..but nice solo violins, violas, pizz stuff, timphoni, ect. This is one thing that the WS products lack. You tend to specialize in realistic acoustic instruements, so an orchestral set would be great( although I don't know how you could achieve it without licencing out for samples..or just record your local hi-school orchestra..which is an idea!! Might make a good project and fullfilling to the yougsters :-)

Hi Tim
You can bet i am working at getting some more Orchestral samples for ManyStation. So you know, i am very motivated to get a few good players to sample. We also just improved our mobile recording system here ... So i am now able to get out and about more with the Mics :-)

We have a few other releases coming first though :-)
Cheers
