I'd say 99% of my music is actually played into a keyboard by me, no step sequencers/editing, loops, etc. Using RMX is starting to change my view of loops, but that's loops on steriods though.

So if I press a note and hold it till the end (some ten+ mins later) what percentage would that make?

Let's see. In midi, I get a rough recording. I then move notes around, add and take notes, and edit velocities. I divide it up into handy reusable loops. I edit copies to taste. Sometimes I throw a filter on which adds more "notes". I do a few takes of guitar and vocals. I chop those into loops/clips as well. It's so much better than the one take four track days. aaaaaahhhhhhh

Same here - though I have used the odd sample - hence the 97.5%o'malley wrote:All the stuff I'm doing now is 100% live. Most of it is not even recorded.

0% - I do all my serious work with the mouse in the Piano Roll. Live we play 20-30% and leave ORION to do the rest. When our new member gets his shit together that should increase to 60-80%, depending on the song.

This reminds me, I would like to have a MIDI-controlled robotic guitar, so my sequencer could play electric guitar. Of course, I also want a robotic electric bass and a very large robotic drum kit.
