I have a demo version of 2.4 and I was wondering if the spectrum analyzer meter is supposed to reflect in realtime the changes I make? If I roll off some low end is it supposed to reflect the changes in real time on the spectrum graph?

Post

Sure, it should reflect the changes. However, with small EQ changes you may hardly notice any change on the graph.

I have tried to make drastic EQ changes to see if it will reflect on the graph, however the graph always remains around the same level as if I made no changes. I can hear the changes I have made, but I still cannot see the results on the spectrum analyzer. Is there a setting or mode I have to select for this to work?

Post

First of all, set the spectrum speed to a higher value. Secondly, you may select a low-pass filter just to be sure it works: low-pass filter tuned to 100 or 200 Hz is reflected heavily on the spectrum analyzer.

In practice, using 1/3 spectrum analyzer resolution is easier than the 'full' one.

Thanks Aleksey! It was just the speed! I should have checked that.

Sure, it is harder to notice changes when spectrum speed is low.

Aleksy, is there a detailed explanation anywhere about how the dynamic process of GlissEQ works, or is that secret? I know there is a transient emphasis, but how does GlissEQ respond differently to different program material? What exactly does the dyamic control do to change these responses?

Thanks much,
Dave

In the core, this process is a 'secret'. User's manual discusses it in deep enough detail for the actual work. Only reverse-engineer may need more details about it.

I'm not a coder, but thanks anyway.

I like the plug.
