Actually, as of today, here in KVR and in Cubase.net, I have no reference to my esoundz UserID,
but I got promotion for my favorite mastering engineer included in my signature.

Cool guys. Next week we're showing the first demo done by us and the web site will be up. It is only a matter of time now before it is released (before it was a matter of something else? odd saying). We're going to open up pre-orders officially soon. You know that's a good sign.

I am also going to do another video demo of live orchestral playing since this is one of the things that makes Miroslav Philharmonik unique amongst the various orchestral products out there.

But, the buzz and anticipation is definitely building. It's exciting! Thanks for the support and making it a fun launch. I hope we can do the same for Studiophonik next and then... woops. I almost revealed a product that hasn't been announced yet.

I suppose I will find good sounds in the percussion section of Philharmonik, although orchestra libs don't have Hihats, I suppose? OK, shakers and triangles would do the job as well.

Sorry for the confusion, what I mean't was not at those specific sites but on other forums, Northern Sounds and even East West SOL.

Promoting an orchestral library is a good thing if you believe in the developer. I did this with GPO because it was great at that time. Many musicians have interest but little understanding of orchestral music simulation requirements. I encourage everyone to say a good word for Philharmonik. It will be the library to beat at this price point.

One question...are the samples "sampled" using the "close mic" technique?

For EWQSL, they have three different mic positions...I personally like it close, that way, one can then apply reverb like the up coming CSR to it....

Miroslav? In the vast archives of recordings we've required there are all kinds of things that we'll be digging into over time. This product is based on an expanded version of his original $4,000 orchestral and choir libraries redone to take advantage of the sophisticated features of SampleTank 2.1 engine. The miking is faily close but not in your face and certainly not distant either. It's a good balance of clarity and body. I like it! In the past, SR has always miked VERY close for optimal flexibility for string instruments. But, if you are recording in the Dvorak Symphony Hall then you have the opportunity to capture some amazing acoustics and of course in the case of the ensembles you can capture the true orchestral positioning which lends a VERY realistic sound to it that is better than trying to simulate it with panning (even though that would be more flexible).

So, in general, Sonic Reality orchestral sampling tends to be made to be more flexible for all kinds of processing and use and Miroslav's orchestral sampling tends to be more instantly realistic for a symphonic sound.

Anyway, EWQLSO is good. I have it. I want to get the choir one as well. Not cheap but good quality stuff. I like it a lot better than GPO to be honest. Between EWQLSO, Vienna, Miroslav and some particular SR samples I have most of my orchestral sound needs covered. Although I am always open to hearing and using great material wherever it comes from.

One very basic question: How many velocity layers are the instruments of Philharmonik gonna have?

It varies but mostly one or two.

The Philharmonik demos sound great. I just compared them to another (quite new) library's demos, and the difference is, well Philharmonik wins completely...
