You're right that we've discussed it before, but wrong that "a few secs" was ruled okay.

I think it would be fine to clip those 3 seconds and resubmit so long as you don't alter the rest of the tune. After all, we allow people to re-encode at the proper sample rate, or to rename the file. I'd even say it would be okay to render it again at a slightly quicker tempo to get your fade included, so long as you don't do anything else to the mix or arrangement.

But both these solutions are up to pHz to judge as to their legality. He'll get you an answer: just be patient 'til then!

Okay, I bow to the judges and await the decision. Anyway, all I did was move the fadeout back three seconds so my song now ends quite abruptly (no remix was done). So if anything it makes my song worse.

Thank you. I aspired to that pro sound quality, especially when tracking the vocals. That you'd compare my singing to any of the DC girls is also a big compliment. There are many artists like DC, Mis-teeq, Amerie, Ciara, etc. This style is called RnB (modern) and it crossed over to being pop some time ago (1989 I think).

Strange that you wouldnt know something as common and universal as RnB but I guess some of us live in our own little worlds.

this seems a bit disingenuous. If you were going to post a mashup why post it in the Gossip thread rather than make a new thread in Music Cafe with it?

Seems like a great way to bias people tuned into the competition. But hey if that's what it takes for you to win. Fine. And they say girls are cliquey.

This will be allowed of course by the powers that be but my photograph was just way too much....

oh well i guess i'm just too talented (and attractive) to be left unmolested in this competition judging from the (over)reactions of some entrants. Anyone would go through all that trouble to slag off two other entries is highly insecure in my book.

for the record (and in the interests of openness) ...

... in light of lady Js concerns ive asked UTM to remove the link to his picture since im not sure that isnt actually quite offensive ... what he does with the track though is up to him ...

... i wont be around until tomorrow afternoon now though ... so any further fall-out from this will have to wait until then ...
