anymeows, he uses a synth (any synth will do) that produces a single ramp wave, because all the "benassi bass" sound is is just a single ramp wave with no filter or amp envelope. What he does to give it that in-every-benassi-song sound is just playing with reverb and a filter over it (both LP and HP filters).
I really dont like him, but I have to admit that this video and song is very catchy:

i have an ashbory! it's actually quite a powerful sound from something that small. unfortunately the maintanance for that thing is unbelievable. a string breaks - impossible to get it fixed for weeks. and then when you put the new string on it takes weeks to settle in!

I dont know what it is about this sound, it seems to baffle the shite out of people for some reason. Yet, its among the simplest of the tarnce sounds to create:
Send a saw wave through a distortion. The resulting 'clipped saw' is what you're after. Zero Vector does this perfectly using the builtin waveshaper.
The effects are not rocket science either. He first side chains the synth line to the kick drum. He then toys around with a reverb send and a hp filter. Automating the levels on the wet / dry and filter fco results in the sounds your after.
Now spread the gospel my son!

and he has a compressor on the synth alone as well, but AFTER the filters and reverb. This key to getting the sound. I dont think it is distorted at all.

Really? You may be right, but I managed to get an almost carbon copy of his sound by clipping a saw wave. To be honest though, the right compression setting may well result in a similar effect - a brick wall with super fast attack and release.
I tend to think that the simplest way is usually the truth. Is it more likely that Bennassi simply cracked on the distortion effect in his Virus? I think so.
Maybe you could check 'Venegance' or 'VIP' for a preset or sample to inspect? The have both release versions of this sound for various synths - my money would be on the clipped saw wave.
But hey, in the spirit or creativity try making these sounds in new ways! You never know what might happen - maybe in a few months people will be posting on here asking for tips on the 'Trancecat Lead' (seriously!). Iv never tried using compression as a waveshaping device, wouldnt know if it were even possible but Im damn sure I'll give it a blast.

Believe me this sounds is really simple to make. Think about it - the Benassi bass sounds basically like a real ballsy, bassy saw sound, right? Well consider what happens when you clip a wave form - it becomes gradually closer and closer to a square wave. This is pretty much the secret, clipping a saw wave will give it some of the thick bottom end you get from a square wave.
Im sure there are people who can talking about clipping and shit with far more insight than myself. But never the less, I still say that this is whats going on here. Im not talking about a super saturated high gain distortion here, its likely top be a waveshaping induced clipping like what you can do with Vector (and many other synths I dont doubt).
