Monitor Cubase SX3 effects on Input with hardware synth???

I've gotten back into using some hardware synth modules. One thing I like to do is put some of the SX audio effects on my sounds(in the midi mixer) before I record to see how it will sound. When I use VSTi's I can add the audio effects no problem. I add them at the Output strip.

I notice when I open the mixer that I can see the signal from my synth coming in on the Input strip, which allows me to add some audio effects, but I can't hear them???

I've been through the manuals and this site but I can't seem to find an answer. I know it has to be the way I'm routing...I think???

Sorry, I figured it out. I "Added Audio" track and now it's fine. It's been so long I forgot how to do it.
