Not many people here produce DnB/Jungle, but for those who do, what are your favorites?

All the samples I have now are either the free ones or ones I took from music.

meh i dont want sonik synth 2. I prefer them in straight-up wav format.

Oh, and all I mean here is percussion. Just all the breaks and samples you hear a lot in the genre.

Lady J recommended one a long time ago that looked really interesting (and was pretty cheap).

forgive my ignorance, but what makes percussion specific to D&B? I thought D&B was all about using the Amen break and a beat slicer to sound the same as the rest? I don't mean to offend, but surely any percussion sample could be used for D&B?

yeah there definitely are, but for strictly the drum kits from sonic reality i would recommend a more focused library such as the refills Vintage, Monster or Reality Drums, as well as the World Percussion

in the Capsule realm, the Eclectic, Studio, and Groove Capsules are smoking hot.

the sonic reality studio/reality drum samples are good for this genre because they are nicely recorded and clean in terms of not being sampled(stolen) from a record. I like to pitch them around, add heavy compression/limiting, and crusher effects to them for adaptation into dnb/jungle styles

but at the end of the day Sonik Synth 2 is a nice suggestion by jeez cause you get all types of those drums AND awesome synth/instrument sounds for cool drum n' bass tracks.

i realize i'm probably missing the point Chase is getting at but i just wanted to post cause these are the sounds i typically use for attacking this cool style of music once in a while when i get in that mood

yep it totally is about any percussion sample. and i think many people would agree with you that it is all about the amen break, but i find it a little boring to produce music around the exact same drum sound as everyone else(even though it IS an amazing sound and i love the track it came from).

WTF? not nearly all of it is about the amen break. Relatively little modern, professional DnB is full of "Amen tracks". It's not 10 years ago, folks.

Any percussion sample? what is that about?

you missed my point. What makes percussion specific to D&B, why do you need something that is labelled as a D&B sample pack? My point was that any percussion could be used, especially as you don't want to sound the same as the rest. I just don't really understand the exact requirement that's all?

D+B samples that i have, that are 'labelled' as D+B are just normal hits that have a vinyly/lo-fi/dirty edge to them. I'd say use anything and stick some FX on them

I don't understand the question. If you browse through all the Grid pages there should be more than enough samples and hints where to get them (google trick) than you'll ever need...

[EDIT]Oh sorry, you're looking for kits? check out jungle frenzy/jungle warfare if you haven't already got them.
But they are a bit overused nowadays i guess...

Couldn't you turn about almost any drum sample into something sort of suitable?
I quite doubt that famous DnB producers are buying their libraries (or whatever they might be using) because they're labelled "DnB drums". I think they're just modifying whatever samples instead.
