my point is: you can't get 'high and mighty' with a moral standpoint on jacko bad/jacko good, because we don't really have all the information, we're not entitled to the information, and we can't know what is right. saying "which details are you missing?" as if you are some kind of authority on the matter is just asking for it

it's no more any of my business than any other crime. the fact that mental issues are brought into question takes any 'evidence' even further away from our understanding and in the sole control of the media (from our point of view).

Well that's one point of view. Of course, if you apply that standard to any given situation nobody is entitled to a view on anything.haydxn wrote:it's no more any of my business than any other crime. the fact that mental issues are brought into question takes any 'evidence' even further away from our understanding and in the sole control of the media (from our point of view).

So why did you bother posting?

Molesters with enough money that they can successfully fight off a molestation charge in the courts (or buy their way out of going to court in the first place, or who are deluded enough to believe they can dupe the public with their innocent "Oh, we just slept in the same bed" routine might very well brag about it on TV.J_Starner wrote:The thing is though, molesters don't go around bragging about it...I think he just has serious issues he needs to take care of.nuffink wrote:Hmmmm...McLilith wrote:The only thing that's well-known, is that he is an unusual person. A forty something man boasts about sharing his bed with teen and pre-teen boys on television.
Which details are you missing?
Here' my take on it, not having any of the evidence before me:
1) Any 40-something man who takes other peoples kids and sleeps with them, innocent or not, and then goes on national TV and admits it . . . is begging to be taken to court for child molestation.
2) Any parent who would willingly let their child stay for even a few minutes alone with you-know-who is just freakin' nuts.
3) OJ did it.

i still say that being an adult and sleeping with children in one bed isnt a crime per se. why should it?nuffink wrote: putte, we don't know if he f**ked those children. We do know he slept with them. He boasted about it on television.
just because the world is f**ked? is that reason enough for thinking that MJ is guilty?

Dude, I love you but... GET REAL! I don't know what things are like in your country but I can tell you if my neighbors saw me regularly bring over teenage boys to my house for sleepovers I would be in some serious trouble. Just 'cause Jackson is rich, famous and eccentric are we supposed to accept this behaviour?putte wrote:i still say that being an adult and sleeping with children in one bed isnt a crime per se. why should it?nuffink wrote: putte, we don't know if he f**ked those children. Just sharing a bed with kids could indeed have some other issues.
I'm all with Putte on the matter.
Of course, MJ is totally wacked off, but still: In dubio pro reo.
Not to forget he's a poor person, regardless what he is guilty of (or not).

I wonder how parents here would feel about their 9 year old kid sleeping with the 47 y/o bloke next door?
I think it's incredible that this man has been allowed to get away with this behaviour.
There is such a thing as emotional abuse and this occurs when children experience bullying, coersion and other types of manipulative behaviour from adults. For example, in families where domestic violence is occuring there is compelling evidence that children experience lasting emotional damage even if they do not experience direct physical abuse.
I find it impossible to believe that any child is safe with Jackson. I believe the children he has cultivated have experienced emotional abuse from this man.
It's important to rememebr that the child is never responsible for abuse. Children may emulate the manipulative behaviour of abusive adults but that does not mean they are culpable. I thought that the way the defence tried to portray the children in this case as manipulative towards Jackson was a disgusting reversal of the real purpetrator of abuse.
The terrible thing is Jackson will continue to cultivate victims and believe that his abusive relationships have been vindicated by the judicial system. That sends out a message to every abusive adult that they can carry on abusing children.
Before anyone starts ranting on about Jackson being typical of an abuser let's not forget that 90% of child abuse occurs in the family.

I feel this is an important point to make because, with all the craziness that surrounds Michael Jackson, in getting caught up with the question of innocense or guilt, you can sometimes miss the very simple fact that if you or I or anyone we knew did what Michael himself readily admits to having done and defends doing, our families and friends and pretty much anyone we ever knew would go absolutely insane!JohnVulich wrote:I can tell you if my neighbors saw me regularly bring over teenage boys to my house for sleepovers I would be in some serious trouble. Well, but I could ask it the other way round: Only the fact that MJ is rich is a certain indication for that he also f**ks these childs?JohnVulich wrote:Just 'cause Jackson is rich, famous and eccentric are we supposed to accept this behaviour?
Honestly, I don't want to be a rich in that country where every greedy f**ker could claim you for something and bring you on your knees, no matter if the accusal is justifiable, or not...
cheers,
Chris
