Did Michael ask them to define "inappropriate"?nuffink wrote:Yuri Geller's on telly confirming that he asked Michael under hypnosis if he ever touched children in a "inappropriate" manner. He replied in the negative.
Phew. Thank f**k the jury reached the right decision.
Oh, sorry. I'm thinking of the wrong sex scandal.

Jackson openly admitted to sleeping with boys. This is his own admission not ours.haydxn wrote:it's no more any of my business than any other crime. the fact that mental issues are brought into question takes any 'evidence' even further away from our understanding and in the sole control of the media (from our point of view).
my point is: you can't get 'high and mighty' with a moral standpoint on jacko bad/jacko good, because we don't really have all the information, we're not entitled to the information, and we can't know what is right. saying "which details are you missing?" as if you are some kind of authority on the matter is just asking for it
Why do you think that it's ok for a 40+ man to sleep with 9 year olds? What concerns might you have about a very rich and powerful 40+ man sleeping with an emotionally and physically under-developed child? What do you think might be the potential for manipulation and abuse of that child? How do you think that abuse might manifest?

Tonmann, I really don't believe John's comment touched at all upon Jackson having committed the crimes he was tried for or not. I think his comment was an attempt to highlight the inappropriate nature of having children "friends" sleep in Jackson's bed under any circumstances.

I think he likes his marks of the Latino or WASP variety.nuffink wrote:Oh well, now that jacko's officially not a nonce, maybe we'll see him at Live8 spreading his love for the children of Africa.

I am not sure if MJ is guilty or not but it is rather strange for a person his age to be sleeping with random boys. If I had a son I couldn't imagine him sleeping in some man's bed.
that said, I agree with the earlier post - we really do not know all the details so we really can't say one way or the other.
we can all agree, however, that he is one unique individual.
Putte & Sascha, I love Germany and I definitely respect you guys but this isn't normal behavior in the states. if it was anyone else other than MJ, you can be sure he would have been locked up.
oh well......we will probably never know.

I'm all with Putte on the matter.
Of course, MJ is totally wacked off, but still: In dubio pro reo.
Not to forget he's a poor person, regardless what he is guilty of (or not).
yep - it seeems us huns have kind of a different perspective - in other words: I completely agree!

Why are you rolling your eyes for? Did I say he f**ked any children? Personally I think his behaviour is very suspicious and I think that it was roght for it to have been investigated.Tonmann wrote:Well, but I could ask it the other way round: Only the fact that MJ is rich is a certain indication for that he also f**ks these childs?

I live in Germany and yet you may be very certain that none of my children will be sharing a bed with adult men they happen to befriend.jens wrote:yep - it seeems us huns have kind of a different perspective - in other words: I completely agree!
Especially ones who've already gone on trial for child molestation.
Whether MJ is guilty or not has no bearing on the innappropriate and unacceptable practice of taking children to "bed" with him.
Punkt.

It's not normal behaviour in Germany, the UK or any European country. Social Services would definitely take the child into care or find some other care arrangement if an adult was sleeping with children under 16. The adult would face prosecution for this behaviour. It's abusive behaviour and that is punishable under European law.seamoss wrote:I am not sure if MJ is guilty or not but it is rather strange for a person his age to be sleeping with random boys. In UK law people are still classified as children up until the age of 18. Social Services seldom take up cases of children 14+ but below that age they will follow up every report made to Children & Families. All statutory agencies have an obligation in law to report any suspected cases of child abuse. This includes emotional abuse where domestic violence is occuring. A risk assessment is carried out and followed up by social services.
There is growing evidence that domestic violence and abuse to children is very common in families. Whether this is increasing due to the stresses placed on families due to increasing social deprivation or whether it's because incidents are more often reported is unclear.

I stand corrected. He's an equal opportunities abuser.nuffink wrote:munchkin wrote:I think he likes his marks of the Latino or WASP variety.nuffink wrote:Oh well, now that jacko's officially not a nonce, maybe we'll see him at Live8 spreading his love for the children of Africa.

imagine a very friendly, social and intelligent nice man doing good to children. talking to them, playign with them, educating them. then it gets night and they fall asleep in a bed. after the night they wake up and start the day ..
when the kid gets back home and is asked "how was your time?", the kid says "great! we had lots of fun" ..
now .. where´s the crime?
is now everything in this world sex related? wow, well done ..
