Shifting formants while changing pitch won´t necessarily make you sound like a chick, but in most cases just like a man who´s capable of singing very high tones.
It´s cool anyway, but a real chicafying tool - or something that changes the characteristics of your voice to whatever you want, Barry White, for instance :) - I don´t think exists yet.

This could actually be great.

I could finally hear all the things I ever wanted in a sexy female voice... burn them on a cd, copy on an md and live smiling for the rest of my life 8)

"oooh cptgone you're so sexy... I looooove you... mmmm that feels gooood" (etc. etc.) looping on my mp3player? Aww yeah!

All kidding aside, I'd like a plug like that!

There is a plugin for the PowerCore that can do voice transformations:
VoiceModeler utilizes TC-Helicon's unique technology to change or improve the sound of a voice. The realtime process can turn a "thin" vocal into a "throaty" one - or even transform a "male" into a "female" sounding voice.

Choir Boy sounds like a girl? Mmm, maybe I should give it a try...

akai decabuddy is actually quite good at this

I have an old Yamaha SW60XG audio card, it has onboard FX - one of them being a voice transformer with these presets: (from memory) Man, Monster, Woman
Not a bad effect at all, but of course not 100% realistic...

Can't remember if it's also on my SW1000XG though.

Very interesting VST and it's only $25. I will check this out further.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, even the scissors and dress ones. Although, some suggestions do sound kind of scary, but now I have an idea what some KVRs would like to do on Saturday night besides writing music. :hihi:

Thanks again everyone,

I am searching for a VST that will alter male vocals to female voices.

I'm not looking for something that morphs to something unreconizable, but makes a realistic sounding female voice from a male voice.

Does anyone know if there are any VST's or sound tools that can do this? I suspect that this is something that would/could be used in the entertainment field and isn't a toy, but rather a serious tool.

Anyone heard of something like this?

Or... if I am asking about something that has already been discussed here, please point me to the thread.

Thanks and I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions. 8)

Look after PSOLA (Pitch Synchronous Overlapp and Add) based technology, also known as TDHS (Time Domain Harmonic Scaling). That is in fact the only existing tech, which is actually able to deliver you an acceptable result what you are looking for. But don't expect a miracle! (The result very much depends on the existing formants of the proceeded voice).

All others (i.e. FFT based) will not satisfy you approximately.

Tips (plugins actually using that technology):
- Leapfrog Rephrase (most options for tweakin)
- Steinberg Voice Machine
- AKAI Deca Buddy
- Waves UltraPitch
- J&H OmniVox (currently Beta)

Hardware:
YAMAHA VH150 board (voice Harmonizer)

FYI

PSOLA is FFT based in most cases. Quite simply, the 'Overlap Add' part refers to the process of overlapping short term FFT (ST-FFT) segments that have been used for the pitch modification.

The 'Pitch Synchronous' part is realized by tracking signal phase and could easily have been called 'Phase Synchronous Overlap Add' which makes more technical sense.

You also missed 'Choir Boy' off your list of plug-ins.

no it is not a full function demo (he has updated clone ensemble recently and added another formant).
CE is good, I like it for I want it for, however if you want to get a female voice only it's not gonna happen...though it has controls for female/child on the alto formant it's all a little chipmunky imo...;)

You have to apply liberal amounts of Autotune after using the kicker, because sometimes it drastically affects the pitch of the voice.
