Thanks to the bouncy feel of the guitar, I don't really mind the doubled chorusy sound too much. It's a nice and harmless song, and the bass propels it nicely. The piano sits well in the mix, but the hihat bothers me a bit. The pads that emerge now and then are nice. Unimaginative ending..
I wish you had said "mostly harmless"
Thanks for the encouragement. I tried to improve my mixing and overall production this month. Agreed on the ending, you caught me trying to make a fade not sound like a fade!

Damn you vurt :x...

Plunge!!!

very Madeski Martin and Wood!!!

i really love that organ.

just a little problem with the higher notes of the (maybe too upfront) bass: some unpleasing vibrating frequencies.

Top production, swirly and pleasing tune. The guitar sits nicely in the mix, but I'd look into the phrasing a little... Your voice is good too, although I wish you'd say more than one thing.... Uninspired fadeouts lose points for me.
I'm impressed, but would rather hear the 5/4 full version I think. :)
well, if it wasn't for the snipe at the record company ethos of 5/4 don't sell then I would have posted it... thanks for the review though!

Thanks. Bassline: too simple/repetitive? or does Cronox 3 not fit in this sound texture?

OK Vurt, Kovacs, Glooper, apparently you three Einsteins missed that part of my post that said Plugins!
How bout an "All for Free" next month? I'm sure it's been done before, but the premise is that you can only use free plugins
I assume that you did catch it, and are just yankin around for fun, if so carry on boys

The information that you're a guitar newbie colours my assessment, because I start out already impressed. Good playing, and the guitars sound good swarming around each other. Pretty good mix and a friendly song. Not cutting edge, maybe, it sounds a little dated to be a major label demo, but there's a useful structure to it, and it shows great promise guitarwise. Puts many of us oldies to shame. Good effort.
Cool, thanks for the review! I do, however feel sorry I didn't put in vocals. I had made the entire backing track and then my mind drew a blank on the lyrics. I guess that was the wrong order to write a song... So I just played guitar over it. :P
