Relist always happens... 5+ minutes to load SS2

I recently bought SS2 and while I am happy with the sounds, I noticed one very annoying problem. The program always does a relist. I have quadruple checked that I have relist on startup turned off. I have double checke dthe Prefs file. I don't know what else to do. The cache file updates its last modified date each time as well.
The only unique issue with my install that I can think of is that I had to install the sounds on a network drive. My local drive does not have the capacity for the 8+ gigs of sound so I installed the sounds on a network share.
FWIW ST2 also takes a while but since I don't have as many sounds, it's much less of an issue. I have an open support ticket with IK, but have not heard anything yet.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a workaround?

A shot in the dark here but go into Windows Explore, Tools, Folder options, View, and disable Automatically search for Network Folders and Printers
Edit: oh, and also go into your Network card properties and set your Link Speed/Duplex Mode to 100Mbps/Full Duplex

Thanks for the suggestion tritonman. Unfortunately none of them worked. I finally went out and bought another drive for the local system. Works fine, but I wish I didn't have to do that. I really think it's got to be a bug in the software, maybe someone will work it out. IK support was no help.

well, this is the cost of huge sample libraries - you need the local hardrive space to make use of them. i recently bought a new internal HD to accomodate the massive SR sound content i have here and it's worth it, everything runs better now.nfx wrote:I finally went out and bought another drive for the local system.
