hi all,
ArtsAcoustic Reverb has been updated to v1.0.1.4. (including demo version)
New features
- Mac OSX 10.4.1 compatible
- Dry/Wet knobs can be ignored when loading patches
- Improved license system
- Instant notification of changes on the setup page to all running instances
- 'Registered to' field on setup page
- External parameter edit window has new 'parameter-select dropdown'
Bug fixes
- External parameter edit window redraw bug for the 'Default' field
- LoadPreset / SetUserPath bug for Cubase (MAC)
- Bug that could cause crackles on hosts with very small blocksizes (e.g. FruityLoops)
- Bug when plug was used as send effect in Cubase
- Last loaded Preset will now be remembered for next / previous preset buttons
Updates
- Documentation
- License agreement
New license policy
Beside the changes and bug fixes we have updated our license policy.
When buying one license of the ArtsAcoustic Reverb you are allowed to...
- install it on any of your computers; either PC or Mac, Desktop or Laptop.
- use the plugin on all your computers at the same time in the context of a single project (e.g. networked connected rendering farm).
You are still NOT allowed to...
- use just one license of the plugin on your computers at the same time working on several projects that are not proceed by the owner of the license (e.g. rental studios).
We call this a "fair use" license policy and we created this with musicians needs in mind.
ArtsAcoustic Reverb 1.0 is available for a MSRP of $/€ 189 and supports the VST plugin platforms in Windows XP and MacOS X. A demo version is available for download.

Thanks for the update, and for your fast rescue when I botched the install like a moron.
Sidenote: This change in your license policy makes sense. I think "still not allowed to" is a bit strong -- initially, it appeared one was permitted to do exactly what's now not allowed. Anyhow, the new (or clarified) policy is a fair one.

Grist for the glamour mill.

not really, but the old licence could have been missinterpreted, so we decided to clarify that.bobby yarrow wrote:Thanks for the update, and for your fast rescue when I botched the install like a moron.

we have no intension whatsoever to change the license
policy all the time, allthough of course theese can change without further notice.
all in all i also think it cannot be more fair.
in fact, not many companies do allow what we do.
however, for most users this will not affect them
in anyway.

after demoing it again i have to retract my first words about your reverb and now claim the opposite
it's dope. groupbuy in sight... maybe
aka rktic. demoscener (Farbrausch, Holon, MFX, Still), sound designer, ux-dude, sth @AudioRealism, human synthesizer—not necessarily in that order.

Nick - you would have to be very happy with the comments just posted by Loophead - short version:
Couldn't agree more!As the former main algorithm, preset and in several cases - product designer for Eventide Inc. from the 4000 series through the 7000 series Orville and Eclipse I can tell you ... there are several plugins available in VST/ AU format which are at the level you would get in a TC, Lexi or Eventide (in ASENDING order of quality, greatness and quantity 'used on hits' !) ... there are several plugs by small groups of brilliant designers which rise to this 'hardware' level. AA is one of them...
