I imagine that some other dll or ocx that MIDIX relies upon is missing from the first system. However, I can't say for sure: that's Marc's department!

Also an off-the-wall question: does the full pathname to MIDIX.ocx have any spaces in it? I've found that some registration scripts have problems with that, thinking that the spaces separate parameters (when not "escaped").

Are the two systems running the same OS?

Just making sure, you did install MIDI-OX and MIDI-YOKE first right?

Thanks for the help!

I didn't know I had to install MIDI-OX too. I don't think it's mentioned anywhere in the readme's. MIDI-YOKE was installed.

I did install MIDI-OX now and then got the same error as above when trying to register. When trying to just run the hta files I got the error "mfc42.dll is missing", or something like that.

So I downloaded this file and put it in WINDOWS/system, and that seemed to do the trick. Registering MIDIX seemed to work, no error messages.

After registering I tried to run the hta files again, but now I get this error:

"Line 1110
Char 3
Object doesn't support this property or method: "ToolsGetFileTitle""

I can choose to run the script anyway, but then get blank fields in the application, which, I presume should not be the case.

I hope you have some suggestions again, and thanks again!

OK I am not the right person to help here but I will try anyway.

"ToolsGetFileTitle" is a MIDI-OX command.
If you are getting this error it means that MIDI-OX is not set up correctly.
Once you set up everything correctly in MIDI-OX and MIDI-YOKE the script should work.

You have to make sure MIDI-OX and MIDI-YOKE are installed.
You MUST define the INPUT and OUTPUT midi ports in MIDI-OX.
Make sure you have your physical input port (the one you plug your keyboard/ez-ag into) defined as an input port in MIDI-OX.
Next make sure you have the MIDI-YOKE VIRTUAL port(s) defined as output in the MIDI-OX port settings.
Also make sure this VIRTUAL output port is set up and recognized by your host.
MAKE SURE the physical port is DISABLED in your host otherwise if your host is open MIDI-OX will not be able to open it when running the script.

Basically that's it.
You do not need to map any Input Ports to any Output ports, the script will take care of this.

You now MUST CLOSE MIDI-OX.
Then run the "hta" script. (the script will open MIDI-OX in the background, you won't see it on the screen)

Summary.
Midi signal enters your physical port.
Midi signal is modified by MIDI-OX (running in the background you can not see it)
Custom script that has been programmed in the "hta" runs inside the MIDI-OX and helps with the modifications.
You can not see MIDI-OX display on the screen but you do see the "hta" interface on the screen and adjust everything there.
After the signal is modified it is sent to the VIRTUAL MIDI-YOKE port (selectable in the "hta" script but only if it is pre defined in MIDI-OX settings, see beginning...)

The VIRTUAL PORT is now ready to be selected in your host, transferring the "modified midi data" to your host.

Not as hard as it seems.
Remember:
1 to define all physical and virtual ports in MIDI-OX.
2 disable the physical port in your host.
3 set up VIRTUAL port instead, in your host
4 close MIDI-OX before running the "hta" script

AndrewSimon, thanks for that water clear explaination. If you were a teacher or a software manual writer you would be worth your weight in gold !

Particularly for bobby yarrow...

TenCrazy.com Yamaha EZ-Guitar Environment v2.10 is now ready for download. I've added a "MIDI Merge" feature that allows you specify the MIDI port of a secondary controller so that you can use its pedals, knobs, etc. Any CC message produced by the secondary source will be merged to the output, including creating a duplicate message for each channel specified by the current string configuration.

Come get it at TenCrazy.com! :)

Thanks again for all the help. Great community here!

Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work. No idea what was wrong. So I did a reinstall of windows, was time for that anyway. All is well now. Am experimenting with the AG now and with the different programs. Very funny to play organ on a guitar. :hihi:

One last question: I remember someone saying in this thread that Trilogy's true stacato was implemented in one of the apps. Which app was that?

And finally: it could be interesting to use other people's presets in the programs (in the htas). Just to see if they are useful. Maybe its time to exchange them.

Thanks again.

That's dedication!

That's Marc's app. I'll add it to mine one of these years... ;)

Not sure how useful presets would be to others (as everyone would need the same sound modules!), but some examples wouldn't be amiss, specifically for things like true staccato.

I´m afraid this question will get an aswer, that´s going to cost me some €... With only 1 midi input on my soundcard, where do I connect a footcontroller ? A little guess : midi merge box ? Any DIY solutions ?

I'm afraid it's going to cost you unless you already have a piece of MIDI equipment that will merge In data on its Out port: some keyboards will do this.

Thanks, Markleford, even for the bad news; there goes my DD55-dream... .. .

Perhaps you can find an Anatek PocketPedal for cheap: I got mine for $10 in a bargain bin! It's a little box that takes your MIDI Out, plugs in a hold pedal and expression pedal, and merges the messages together. Doesn't even need a power supply!

Sadly, though, they've been out of production for years, so you'll have to get lucky.
