That was the only logical reason I could think of wanting 3.56 instead of the newest version 5. I would never revert back to previous versions even though I have every version backed up on a cd since I bought FL. *edit* Now that you mention it, I kind of miss Ctrl+W. I think Gol changed some little things to the 404 that made it non-compatable with newer versions so it would work in the piano roll. Never used the 404 much but I do remember some panic over the compatability of older projects.mpc84 wrote:i need legal copyelhefe23 wrote:Is it because you want the old TS-404 funtionality or what?![]()

There might be a few problems as the TS-404 functionality has changed, as well as the arpeggiator, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. Oh, and there were a bunch of samples that aren't included anymore... but you can still download if you need them.ouroboros wrote:gotta go w/ v.5 then, and good for you. Get legit! You'll be glad you did. v.5 is awesome and will import everything from 3.56 flawlessly.
Maybe he really wants Ctrl+W, Lightshow, or automatic color variation in the playlist (I actually would like that one back). I also liked the old white SimSynth Live GUI better.
There was also some cool demo flps in the Cool Stuff folder that aren't there anymore. I remember liking that one titled "NoxOverstreet".

My guess is that mpc84 only needs FL for composing drum loops (look at his pseudonym) and probably doesn't need the newer (DAW) features. He's probably also not that familiar with the changes, that have been made, and may be making the assumption that the older version is leaner and more CPU friendly for his system.

Regardless of his motivation for wanting a previous version, there's this overriding cloud over him that says he should have bought it when it was available, instead of playing the warez game (and losing!)d2j3w7w wrote:There might be a few problems as the TS-404 functionality has changed, as well as the arpeggiator, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. Latest isn't always greatest, but I can't imagine why anyone would want to part with hard-earned cash to use a backlevelled version of what is now a mature and well-established host.

Analogue or digital – which is better? There's only one way to find out... FI-I-IGHT!!!

You could be correct, J.V. and I do not want to randomly attack people; that certainly was not my intention. I don't want to start one of those warez flame sessions. Version 3.56 is a cracked version, I believe, as that's the version people using cracks most often inquire about on the boards I've read, but perhaps I made an unfair assumption. And even if I didn't, my hope was to encourage mpc84 towards a better product! v.5 is superior in every way, and I hope to reassure him about the purchase.
