very Madeski Martin and Wood!!!

i really love that organ.

just a little problem with the higher notes of the (maybe too upfront) bass: some unpleasing vibrating frequencies.
:) !!!

You win the prize! I've been listening to those guys the past month or so. First time I've heard them. I was just playing around trying to emulate the style a little and decided to use it for my contest entry.

Glad you like!

Heres my third installment on the June entries:

RichieBee - Child of the eighties
Like the overall "big production" feel. Great funky bass break. The in your face Frank Zappa like vocal and lyrics definitely make it. One of my favorite things in this track is the horn work all the way through. Oh almost forgot, the drums were fantastic also.

scamme - Obvious Junetic
This reminds me allot of a early rock instrumental "Wild Weekend" in some ways. On can not over estimate the value of a well played tambourine accompaniment as found here. Nice themes I would have liked to hear in a longer format.

M'Snah - Popstar
I liked the way the church bells were warped. The vibraphone type patch sounded great.

Beardedone - its a deal
A movie deal. Kind of reminds me of that movie Memento, where the story is told by presenting the scenes in reverse order. I really like the tones used for the lead parts.

WoJ - eight
Starts out a bit sundry, but then manages to introduce quite of bit of original guitar sounds and riffs that I enjoyed. The ending riff was fresh.

Ixox - the road to a 25,000 deal
Liked the robust dynamics and high fidelity overall. This would sound fantastic in a big theatre with Dolby etc. Liked the overall progression and development. Great horns and tympani!

pheeleep - dreaming
There is this great harmonica echocoey sound going on throughout that works really well. Nice contrast with the subdued nylon guitar parts. Very atmospheric and stimulating.

khepira - let yourself be free
I really like whatever it is you are doing with some of the lead parts, it kind of sounds like slight pitch shifting, phasing and a bit of Doppler shifting all at once.

tristeza orange - coastal town
I really like the main lead sound. Kind of a fluty / horn sound
but twisted somehow, anyway it works for me.

xander - slow down jackie
Great song. The overall mood and arrangement has plenty of energy and adds to the tension. The verses came across great but the choruses were a bit hard to understand on my system.

Thanks PawPawPatch! :D :D

I hope to do some soundtracks someday soon. I am trying out Vegas and Liquid edition. These are both great programs. I just need some movies to work on.

plunge - Tabasco
Liked the jazzy organ tones. Funky guitar work is very tasty. I really would enjoy this piece bunches more if the drum kit was turned down several notches. Nice composition and feel.
Appreciate the feedback. Thanks for the input!

same thing with the music.. the beatles arent anything special to me because I dont hear any unique qualities or extraordinary abilities/differences in their music.. I do notice they have their own sound persay but it still fits into the era of their music.. even though it spanded for awhile..
Are you serious, or just trolling?

Posted mine, sort of a funky disco poppy orchestral broken beat/garidge affair with ragamuffin toasting and my worst Timberlake impression :o
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

loved the choruses. Great vocal style.
Are you sure? I've rarely been complemented for my vocal style. But thanks!

Hi!
After a whole adventure with the direct link to my entry, Undercover, it's back again (page 3 of submission thread, last one).
Talked about with pHz.
I hope you like it.

Still not sure if I'll have an entry ready this month. I started one yesterday, but like it so much I'm keeping it for another track that I started.... Neither bits of songs are completed enough to be entered.

So I might concede defeat (if I can't get it finished by tomorrow) and just review everyone elses and concentrate on updating my website.

I really like the idea of having a seperate thread soley for reviews (and responses to those reviews). This has been suggested before, and I liked the idea. Of course, in theory that's what this thread is for, but there's usually too much noise on this channel that detracts from the atmosphere of discussing submissions. Admittedly, I've contributed some noise meself :hihi:. Anyway, FWIW (="...a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing!"), since I know you don't care or listen anyways Teach!! :x :P

And......Thanks to those who've given reviews already - this to me is the crux of the contest (especially since I never win ).

Getting ready to drop some reviews here meself.... so gimme a day or two

Here in Norway every ISP has a free service you can sign up for and get free email and typically 20 MB webspace. I just serial-sign up for those, and use only the webspace. When it's full, I get a new one. For free.
I'm sure you can do it too, wherever you are. I use tiscali.no.

... and for only $30 (or something like that) you can get your own domain name + 150 MB storage... for a year. e.g. @audioshot.com.

Of course for all the wusikstation users there's always the wusik virtual label, although not everyone can always perfectly download from there.
