Tutorial writers needed. Please share your knowledge.

Ok, very soon we will be launching a new web site. This site will be completely geared towards free audio and music education. But though we do have some great tutorials in the works, we need your help.

If there is ANYTHING you can share, we ask that you do so. It's all about sharing knowledge. So if you can write a tutorial, or already have, share it. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's about music, audio, or a related subject.

Also, if you have something you WANT to learn about, please post it. Maybe someone who knows about that subject will write something on it.

The true success of the site will depend on how many of you want to share. So share what you know about your favorite sequencer that you think others may want to know. Really, anything goes. Please PM me or email me at koolkeys (at) juno (dot) com.

Also, I do realize that there are many sites with good tutorials out there. We don't want to discount those sites. But we want a site completely devoted to learning. And in many cases, we want to get more detailed then most of them. I'm talking true learning here. From beginner to advanced, it doesn't matter.

Just hoping that someone will see this. Don't worry, I won't press too much. A couple bumps, and if not, then I'll let it go, I guess. Even if you think it's a dumb idea, tell me. I've worked alot on the site so far, and I think it can be something cool. Let me know if you have any ideas or if you think it won't work.

Actually, I really would like to help, its just that I am so damn busy.

I would suggest approaching individuals personally via pm. Devs as well as musicians like to show off their knowledge. Approach them from that standpoint.

Thanks for that. I do have a links section that I'm building with links to other tutorials and also instrument instruction and such.

The problem with approaching people is that I don't know who knows what. I have approached 3 or 4 people that I realized knew something. And I'm writing several tutorials myself. I hope somebody else does have the time to help. If not, I understand. I'm often too busy to do many things, as life goes. So I'm not offended. But if someone DOES have the time, that would be awesome.

A whole bunch of really knowledgeable old timers in the recording world hang out there. I am sure that some would love to share their underappreciated skills.

I personally have been planning on doing a general online history of music, using click-and-play midi files with matching notation examples for illustrations.

But thats a lot of work, and this commercial loop thing is really sucking up all of my time.

I know this is probably a little more work, but you might have more success if you created a list of all the articles you fell you need, and then people could pick which they would write? That might garner a bit more response, as well as bumping on a weekday during business hours; once for US, once for Europe.

Thank you. I will do what tomorrow with a list. I can tell you right now that I need sequencer specific tutorials. Cubase, Logic, Tracktion, whatever. I can't learn them all, so others can maybe help me there.

Other than that, I will make a list of things needed and those already in the works. And yes, I guess it would help to bump it when people are actually awake! Thanks again!

Ok, right now I'm specifically working on some effects masterclasses, mostly general, explaining all the controls of gates, compressors, etc. But I need tutorials on using these effects with various kinds of music. My tutorials will be general, and these should be specific. This can include special effects also.

And I do still need as many sequencer specific tutorials as I can find. So let us know how to use your favorite host.

I will post back later about other needs. But this should get me started pretty well. Thanks again!
