Yes I know its a very old plug, but I still cant get it to work!
It says in the readmefile: 'install Stylophone.dat to your windowsdirectory'. Doesnt work. Installing it also to windows system and system32: doesnt work. Now I have the .dat file installed in:
-vstplugfolder(together with the DLL)
-windows
-windows system
-windows system 32
Has anybody ever got this to work? HOW????!!! :help:

I'm interested too. I swear I got it to work the 2nd time I installed it (years ago), but no luck on attempts 1,3,4, or 5.

Hmm...isn't Stylophone supposed to be one of the crappiest vsts ever? I know when I did finally get it working a few years back that it was deleted 60 secs later...

Have you tried putting the .dat file direct onto c (not in a subdir)?

stylophone.dat must be in c:\windows, the path iz hardcoded in the dll.
it don't work in the host that are calling process() and not processReplacing() because it only implement processReplacing()

the .dat contains the raw samplez that are looped and played, there are no parameter to change the sound.
and it is the same midi implementation as steinberg vstxsynth example,

Thanx guys! :) I got it working now. I run Win2000 so I dont have a 'Windows' folder but 'WinNT'. Creating a dummy folder called 'Windows' on C and putting .dat-file there did the trick. Presets dont work though :( , but because it has a nasty 'crackle' I think I wont be using it anyway.
Thanx for the fast replies! 8)

There are no presets. Just like the original stylophone it only makes one sound. It might be a little bit cooler if the vibrato worked though.

BTW, if you want a real stylophone, you can get one pretty cheap on eBay.
