My pleasure, mate! By the way, i just discovered that you can also freeze a track by right-clicking on the track and selecting freeze, which is quicker than going into the edit menu 8) This whole "right-click" thing is obviously another cool addition to Live 5.

That one change instantly removed the single biggest frustration I had with Live. The context menus don't yet have all the choices I'd like, but I'm making suggestions as I go along.

That's good, Meffy, and I agree. I'm sure they'll look at those suggestions and implement as many as they can - and I should think it would be reasonably easy for them to do so.

HI

What is "Get user goove" ... I ask as I have been given several vocal remixes and am not enjoying myself in SX!

Flipper.

Complex time algo while being 5x as intensive as any other algo is *damn* good. I've been testing it and can slow 125bpm mp3s (128kpbs) to 85bpm and it still sounds pretty damn good
If it sounds good it is good.

It's a Reason feature. For those of us that love it, it's the Reason feature. You can simply right-click on anything in the Reason sequencer and grab it's groove. This can then be applied to anything else.

Now with improved MIDI jitter!

...And then you can freeze that and get the CPU back :-)

can you export that groove, if so then you can use it in Live 5

Some midi enhancements Flipper:

1. sample names in left side of Impulse midi note grid..YES!!! No more 1,2,3,4 etc!!
2. headphone audition switch in piano roll/Impulse midi note grid. YES again!
3. automatic note readout up left side of piano roll follow mouse position. YES YES!!

just some that people have posted so far, there are more i'm sure.

Post

is this feature sick or what?

What you *can* do is drag an audio clip complete with ableton and thirdparty - drag it into the browser, and the sample is saved with all the relevant settings.

Post

the upgrade prices of Live5 are exponentialy in cost ratio, almost every fckn feature is worth at least 50 bucks and the ones like the above are worth the upgrade cost itself
by the time the abes are finished the upgrade cost isn't going to mean anything to anyone.

Post

Yeah, this upgrade is the biggest no-brainer in the history of upgrades.

and I'm understating the point :)
If it sounds good it is good.

This in fact turns out not to be so straightforward as yet. Read here for a full discussion of limitations to existing Live 5 freeze, and comment from Robert Hanke on plans for an improved freeze soon...

can u edit a frozen clip without unfreezing it? like changin volume envelopes, or cutting and pasting parts of it? if this is possible in live5 then i'm pretty sure i'll never use another host again
