"The bank of sounds results from a cooperation between the Italian software designers of IK Multimedia and the American sound developers of Sonic Reality, who specialize in making top-class sample CDs. The best of which is made from synthesizers, with a collection of any kind of vintage sounds (Moog, Oscar, Arp, Prophet, EMS…). The atmospheric pads and other textures are superb and some leads have a power seldom reached in virtual modules. Very good guitars and basses too, when combined with amp simulators produce great realism. Pianos get by too, as well as violins."
"On the whole it's very convincing, although it could be difficult to be wrong considering Sample Tank®'s success! The sounds general colour is a little bit more centralized on synthesizers, but it doesn't lose on versatility. Since Sonik Synth™ 2 is a samples' reader whose quality depends mainly on samples' size, it's the perfect example of a virtual module that evolves in a spectacular way (it's enough to compare it with version 1!), according to hard disks size evolution. Obviously, don't seek originality or hard sound experimentation here, it's first of all an instrument "all-in-one"; intended to produce clean and rather traditional models, and this is successfully achieved.
At first I thought it implied there was a sound set upgrade coming,,, now I'm not so sure,, lol. Sorry,, anyway, I'll leave it up.
Reviews are funny. What are they comparing it to that gets 5 stars? A single loop CD? Anyway, 4 out of 5 is still good. Better than just two thumbs up (two thumbs WAY up however is the ultimate).
