Which sample library uses NI's sampler ?

Why, are you looking for sampler which will randomly cut off audio at render-time and then replicate the bugs in later version and then face a brick-wall of a company that denies a problem exists?
Off the top of ma heeed:
Garritan Personal Orchestra - NI Kontakt
East-West QL Symphonic Orchestra (all) - NI Kompakt
Battery 2

Glasgow.
But I'm not a ned.
"Gee-us yer jaecket!"
About the NI/bug thing, it may be because I (and others with the same problem) have an older machine that has trouble keeping up with the CPU. But why it should play fine with a ton of instruments in RAM, but screw up rendering, is just baffling.

Personally I find this trend of wrapping samples in a locked vst instrument quite disturbing. If I buy samples, I want to be able to load them in *my* sampler

Agreed! Many of those libraries looked tasty, but I held off for that reason alone - It was said that you could use them within Kontakt, once you installed the app, but that sounded dodgy - you had to load the whole damned thing just to peek at the sample set! Plus I had enough sampled shit clogging my drives already.

Especially as Kompakt isn't as efficient as other samplers.
But I expect this trend to continue, due to people fearing illegal redistribution of their samples.
When you look at some of the "free" soundfonts, you'll notice that some of the sample filenames are sounding suspiciously familiar to those used in commercial libraries.
Using Kompakts monolithic file format certainly helps a bit to avoid individual patch stealing, as it won't allow for plain conversion, using any of the popular format converters.
And while I understand things from a developers point of view, it's again copy protection getting in the way of legit users.

hum... I have the same problem but my machine is only two years old. Is it considered too old already?! (a P4, 1.6ghz, 512meg RAM, 40gig HD with WinXP)ceenda wrote:Glasgow.

SampleScience: Mine is about 2 years old too, pretty similar to yours though mine is an AMD processor. (Athlon XP1800 (1.53Ghz), 768Mb RAM, 2x40gig HD, XP)
Managed to get round the problem by using TapeIt to grab the audio output from live playback. But I really wish NI would fix this.
scuzzphut: Unfortunately not, but my flatmate went (along with her exceptionally hot friend... opportunity missed, clearly.).
